I get the argument that being in the Prem gives you more money and exposure but they’d still be midtable at best. You’d need a shit ton of money to even hold a candle to the top teams.
I think you should look up the entire history and narrative of this. It's being going on or decades where Scottish clubs claim they'd be excellent in England due to their size and support.

The other thing too is they’d not be guaranteed European football which would mean they’d lose money in a way.

I’ve seen a few people suggestion a British Cup (presumably teams from across the UK) instead of the Carabao Cup, which I think could potentially work. Mexico and the US have the Leagues Cup with Liga MX and the MLS.

So Celtic have now done the double in a shit season for them. Shows that Scottish football really is a joke.

Rangers have signed striker Lawrence Shankland from Hearts on a two-year deal, with the option of a further 12 months.

Good signing for Rangers, bad loss for Hearts. The other teams need to invest if they’re to win silverware.

Yep. Claudio Braga might have been Hearts 'player of the year' but in reality Shankland was their most influential player.

He could well be the best thing to happen at Ibrox in years. Fantastic footballer....

Ironically Rangers were in for him 10 years ago when he was a young player at Ayr United but ruled him out!!

And he's a Bluenose!!

Damn I hate that this happens. Hearts covered so much ground this year now they are back to square one

It's going to be interesting to see how Derek McInnes goes at Ibrox next season. He understands this great club as much as anybody so it's a no brainer for the Rangers hierarchy!!

Is this the appointment that get the 'Gers back in the Champions League.....

How the devil are hearts going to improve when the gaff and Star players move??? The suits must be having a fit so close to champions league money but get so far

Hearts are now fully entwined into the Tony Bloom/Brighton ecosystem and that means access to Bloom's proprietary, highly coveted Starlizard analytics software to revolutionise their player and coaching recruitment and their scouting operations.....

The Starlizard recruitment model ignores traditional, narrative-driven scouting. It uses a purely quantitative filter to analyse performance data across hundreds of global leagues, identifying undervalued talent before mainstream clubs notice them.

I wouldn't be surprised if they've already sorted out the replacements.

At their Belgium club Union Saint-Gilloise, the data-driven framework pioneered by Tony Bloom achieved legendary status. USG gained promotion in 2021. By 2025, they had won a Belgian Pro League title, secured a Belgian Cup, and advanced deep into UEFA European competitions.....

Their transformation serves as the ultimate proof-of-concept for how analytics can completely rewrite a club’s fortunes.

The Scottish Premier League and the Belgian Pro League are quite alike in terms of structural size, if not quite the financial situation.

The data algorithm well help no doubt Hearts bypass expensive domestic stars to source undervalued global talent. Predicting tactical fit and future growth, it lowers transfer risks, maximises player resale profits, and provides the strategic edge needed to compete with the Celtic-Rangers duopoly.

Either they’ll buy better players or they won’t improve. Sadly I can’t see them surviving the next Celtic rebuild. It’s a super uncompetitive league.

I’m sure they would, especially to lose the way they did. Also, Scotland doesn’t have direct European spots. They have to go through qualifiers, which is why Celtic didn’t get UCL (Kairat knocked them out on pens).

Incorrect(again) Rangers would have had direct qualification had that German twat not fucked it it up in the split.
