Had to take initiative earlier on in the game. These are the questions that Popovic needs to be asked. Was the plan to just wait for something?

Yes he doesn't look ready to me. Maybe give him another chance in a years time if he plays well at club level.

Well versed in the system. Nice firm ball by Elder there but an Irvine stumble albeit surprised he got the ball.

We play like we are defending a 1 goal lead irrespective of the score, major question marks.

Some truly bog average players representing Australia. After this game it's really time to build some combos ahead of the WC.

Geria, AH Toure, O'Neill, Okon, Elder, Boyle not good enough at this current moment. Goodwin as a LWB is just stupid.

Tonight? He did nothing wrong but didn't grasp the game at all. Like his U20 games he just trots along.
 
Terrible free kick by Boyle. Irvine there again showing has lack of any technical ability.

Popovic needs to be asked what the aims were tonight. Definitely learned that some fringe players needn't be considered until the next cycle.
 
apart from okon and elders debut not a lot of positives to be honest

But then where was the effort and urgency? I'm in two minds. This game was no different to the Bahrain and Jordan friendlies where we just went through the motions.

The stats though show too much complacency and that's down to the tactics and coaching. Apparently Popovic wanted more final third play and then it's with a new group of players but why didn't the team have a proper go?

The final 15 saw more space and McGree had a go. Metcalfe put in more than others.
