This is arguably our easiest group we have ever faced in the World Cup and this is the opening game now that I have the least confidence.

Interesting, it's the most confidence I've had for a Roos team. We've lost every opening game since 2006.

Easiest group is a bit of a distraction implying we should make it out. It is technically true because we don't have a heavyweight for the first time but there isn't an opponent in this group we are favoured against, as per usual. Getting out of the group would still be a surprise, even if it is slightly easier to finish top 2.

Not really when 8 of the 12 3rd places also qualify. We're used to being the lowest rated team and have finished in top 2 - finishing top 3 without a real heavyweight should be a free hit.
