Who do we get if we draw or win?
 
I wouldn’t rely on the drawski, we need to aim to win so we can finish 2nd once you have the mindset to avoid defeat then it’s risky against the other team who might have a different mentality.

Also if we play to win it’s a lot better than avoiding defeat, 3 points might not be enough anyway so I rather aim for 6 points and at the worst you get 4 points if it’s 10 minutes to go.

The question for tomorrow is who is going to have the ball, given Paraguay play a similar style like us…
 
Getting more nervous about things if we lose. It looks very tight on that table. The South Africa win wasn't ideal.
 
If scores are level near the end we'll happily hold on. Paraguay should be content with 4 points putting them ahead of Scotland and South Korea.

We'll also know where Ecuador and Sweden stand by then.

Believe me Paraguay will be playing to win like I hope we will be. They will know like us that there's a much higher chance of getting to the round of 16 if you place 2nd as opposed to third. One of Egypt/Belgium/Iran and real outside chance the Kiwis(!), or a powerhouse like Argentina. Easy choice
 
I believe after today's results, a draw will confirm Paraguay as through to the next stage as well. Bosnia is through as there are guaranteed 5x 3rd places behind them, and Paraguay will be on the same pts and -1 GD behind them in the event of a draw, so will all but guarantee them as well.

Both Paraguay and the Socceroos would finish level on four points in the event of a draw but we'd end up second on the ladder with a superior for and against.

That's why I think in the final 20 they won't risk anything if the scores are level. Winning keeps them away from Germany but maybe they'll be glad to just advance.
 
I can only see the start front three of Irankunda, Metcalfe and Volpato or Irankunda, Metcalfe and Toure.

Toure and Volpato rotation, either starting is fine. I can't see any other scenario.

Sprinter v distance runner.

If he has a limited sprinter's tank, once it is gone so is he.

Better to start with him to get every drop out of his tank rather than bring him on late and he walks off with energy unspent.
