Socceroos vs Canada/USA Oct 25

Segecic should move past players like Hrustic.
Looks like popa selected him as an 8
He seems least happy with his cm options i reckon

Irvine and robbo could work where robbo has most of the on the ball work against a high press

I think we can put any hope for Elder and Luongo to rest. Robertson is a massive thing though. So does he get the full media spotlight?

Segecic is nursing something. The wiki says we're playing Japan away then in India against Argentina in November.
I'm still hoping in spite of Popovic.

Are we sure they picked the right Nicholas? Has Daggers played much?
Daggers has been a regular sub for Viking for 3-4 weeks. Not a lot to pick a player on. Daggers is a good presser and good in the air. I reckon he's looking at a Duke alternative.

Segecic should be one of our wide forward options. He should be in on goal threat even if he isn't a neat fit for Popovics sytem.

Reckon sega would be a brilliant fit if paired with an active wing back like bos? Our right side wing backs need passing options, so players good at opening passing lanes. He is a bit weak off the ball so might struggle on the right

Feels like Robbo may get 'snubbed'/ no playing minutes in these two friendlies similar to Segecic in the previous window. That would be unfortunate, I want to take a look at him, most of us have an optimistic feeling that he'll impress.

Poppa does play hard to get

Duke was only an injury call up for the last wcq for Matt Leckie (another guy who could be picked for November). Toure, Taggert, Borello and Boyle were the striker options. But then he came in and did what he did.

It would almost be unfair to the ones preceeding for Robbo to get any minutes this window. I don't agree with this method but I guess considerining he's had zero minutes since May just having him as a train on player back in the environment makes some sense.

This confirms Popovic's weird selection hierarchy but perhaps they do things we don't see. I'd like someone to ask him straight up why he though Brattan Japan away was justified.

I’m pleased Robertson has been called up, even if he isn’t match fit. He is only 22 yo, and could have a long term Roo future.

I’ve only seen about 20 mins as a sub for the Roos, but he looked good. I had no interest when it seemed Robbo did not want to pull the shirt on.

Robertson injured, so that's why he hasn't played and was very good for large parts of last season for Cardiff in the CHAMPIONSHIP & very good for Portsmouth the season before when he was 19. He has the potential to be the best #8 for the Socceroos since Mooy

Selected based on form from two years ago?

Good to see he’s committed to Australia (for now) but dont see how he has warranted a call-up.

If this were any other serious football nation would they select a player just coming back from injury who still hasn’t seen minutes?

Better than some of Popa's pick off non-existent form

I can't believe Robertson will see any game time, given he has apparently been injured and hasn't played for months. Surely he is only there to make him feel part of Popovic's plans going forward.
