If Boyle is Popa's answer to some form of false nine striker then FML honestly.

Might as well not play anyone up top, get another body in midfield and really get those wing backs to bomb into the box looking for the cutbacks etc

Bolded made me laugh. We've tried it and it didn't work. Boyle isn't strong enough for the role.

That was 10 years ago. A lot of water under the bridge since then. I've watched some of Kalik's games at Hajduk. He's strong and clever. Great hold up player, links well and a goal threat. He'd work well in a false 9 imo. Has the intelligence for it.

I'd like to see Kuol starting and scoring before he gets a call up. I'm still hoping he kicks on but the timing feels off to me.

he did say there would be some new people we have never seen before
I thought that surely couldn't include a league or former a league players since we have seen the before!

It sounds like herrington is about to get a call up
 
he calls for 8+ interenational games a year at all youth age groups
 
They talk about the rising standards of coaching in the a league as well @Decentric might be interested

Sapsford and Strain haven't featured under Popovic either.

Watching the HNL is like watching the SPFL if you don't play Dinamo Zagreb or Hajduk Split you're just making up the numbers. If you are playing for them you look good because you are surrounded by the best players in the league and you are playing weaker teams.

I suspect its a touch better because at least dynamo and hadjuk purchase players in the same league so its less of a dead end

also easier to get a transfer out

Scotland have changed their style to a more modern style the last 2 seasons. Will be interesting to see if they start landing transfers

Ouch. I'm hoping things do improve and we can at least reach a level where we have half a dozen mid table big 5 players getting regular game time by the next work cup, but he seemed less optimistic
