Alrighty - my Historical Playthroughs are on hold while I get this sorted for the final simulation - am tempted now that I am going full boil with this, do I simulate every game for the lulz?

Essentially - game now has the World Cup kits updated, and 15 of the 16 stadiums (only one missing is Kansas - so I am replacing Kansas with Chicago's Soldier Field - now the Chicago Stadium for this World Cup)

Squads - Spain's announcement now means I have them down as the 23rd of the 48 nations to announce their final squads. Of the other 25, 16 have announced a preliminary squad of some sort (I'm including Australia in this) and have either set a date to announce their final squad, or haven't.

7 more have announced dates, but no preliminary squads.

2 have announced SFA (Uruguay and Ghana)

I am also replacing players that aren't in the game in their squads by either using the preliminary squad announcements and picking the next player in line in their 'position' (GK, DF, MF, FW) with the most caps, unless that player is injured. I'm doing my best to not include injured players as much as possible. If no preliminary squad is available, I'm using the wikipedia most recent call ups in the past 12 months and following the same format.

There are a few players that aren't in this game's database, but they actually are on the online eFootball database, so as the stats mirror up with this, I will create those players (Gianni Stensness, Francis de Vries and Jesse Randall fall under this category, so NZ will only have one player replaced in their squad - Lachlan Bayliss)

Going to do a test run of how things look by playing a friendly vs Mexico in THE ROSE BOWL

Now - inevitably, this game is missing a few players, so I'm going to leave this post as a running list (that I'll edit as those last few squads are fully announced). The plan to replace players that aren't in game is to first use any players announced in a preliminary squad beforehand in the most similar position. Second is to go through the recent call ups within the last 12 months and replace with generally the most experienced player that is either not injured, or not retired.

I'm also setting up teams to use the same tactics as initially put in the game, and having the game auto-select the best lineup. In the event there is 1-3 replacement players using the above process, I'll then manually put these into the 3 slots on the squad that aren't included in the matchday event. When there's 4+, I'll use my discretion on which ones to include on the bench - this will usually mean (using South Africa as an example) preliminary players get first dibs as they were seemingly at least considered. Noting that, the game will then set their own starting 11 based on injuries, fitness, etc throughout the tournament - this is just how I'm doing the default setting.

Given that Mexico, Switzerland, Australia, New Zealand, Haiti and England have all announced their final squads (and I've recreated them as best as possible in game) I will warm up with EL SIMULACION doing the Mexico v Australia, Australia v Switzerland, New Zealand v Haiti, and New Zealand v England friendliescf272139-8b86-4ff9-a1f4-afe6a0a74da2.jpg

EL SIMULACION to begin with Mexico v Australia friendly at the Rose Bowl
NOTE: I do not control subs - just the starting eleven (if I am not selected as both sides - eg, Aus v NZ)

Mexico v Australia lineup.jpg

EL SIMULACIÓN DE LA COPA DEL MUNDO is LIVE!

Up first we have Australia v Turkey on Matchday 1

Individual match recordings will be made for all Socceroos and All Whites games, and all games within those two groups. I will be re-linking my Twitch channel at the top of each page when necessary - as all matches will be available at the same like, with an individual URL for each YouTube match (also available to watch later)

Up first is USA v Paraguay - but in the meantime - the line up for the Socceroos v Turkey!

Tables and results from Matchday 1

NOTE: Group Standings are not in order of 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th yet - as it's using formulas to fill in the goals etc, so is still in the seeded/drawn order.
