There were veiled/cryptic warnings(not so much criticism, as I recall) from Les & co. on The World Game show about the dangers of the game here forgetting/further-marginalising its own history for the benefit of catering to the new-dawners' sensitivities. Realistically that was as openly as they could address it w/o risking the FFA’s wrath(though apparently that turned out to be the case anyway)

I can only speak for myself as someone who’d followed(mostly as a neutral) the last 7 years of the NSL, but at the time I was indeed all in w/what Lowy & O’Neill were selling…my bewilderment at seeing players’ NSL-era stats erased as if they’d never existed notwithstanding.

I wanted to follow the brisbane strikers but couldn't get access to it

reason was simple, they had the word brisbane in their name haha

now its the brisbane roar for similar reasons
