hahahah well its NO 990 at a 35 thousand seater stadium Ill grant you that....

In the immortal words of

Western United CEO Chris Pehlivanis

“We also clashed with schedules of homework, schooling, parenting and the timeslot wasn’t ideal either, at seven o’clock at night, considering kids have got school the next day and [they wouldn’t] be home until ten o’clock. Parents chose not to come.”

How come when Victory beat Atletico Madrid they never said local teams are better than La Liga? But when they lose this nothing match they are pro-ams?

People on the old 442 where in raptures when the ALL Stars PTY LTD beat Newcastle or was it Celtic a few years ago.

Birmingham City who finished top in League One, the same division Wrexham were promoted from, beat Sevilla 3-1 in a pre season friendly on Saturday....

League One isn't better than La Liga by any stretch of the imagination.

People just like to opine on these matters, I get that, but in purely the sporting sense pre season friendlies and exhibition games are just fitness training sessions designed to measure the fitness, health and general physical wellbeing of players. Nothing more.

Then it will be back to being a meaningless friendly that nobody takes seriously except the a-league plastics
I think the key is for young players to impress there's been a few games where young guns have put their name up pasquali is most famous example

so by reading, the event crowd are turning up for Wrexham no doubt - wonder how skyblue the crowd will be ?
Anybodys guess.
I expect some will be wearing LFC shirts hahaha
Few sensitive aleaguer's will be sitting on the edge for a win so they can say - you see our league is as good lol......
OMG sit down your blocking the view.

lol

I thought this stadium was condemned, why are they playing here?

How many people are there? Honestly, fuck off. A midweek practice game at 12 degrees getting more than an A League game. Are there that many Welsh in Australia. There is no way most A League games can't serve up just as a good a football match. Was there a massive price drop? These people surely aren't there for the football because the season proper provides a more intensive clash.

well as long as the a league clubs make cash from this?

To be fair wrexham are pressing a lot harder than the usual tourists which is good for fitness. Standard probably isn't far off a typical a league game. I'm guessing they are cheaper to get tour than your glamour clubs
get portsmouth, qpr etc to tour

As for the match, pretty sloppy from sydney, you expect that with the long off season and they are missing a real cb. Quintal can cut both ways which should be normal but is rare for us. Him cutting effectively outside after cutting inside created the hand ball shout and the corner

Sure. That's the attraction that gets a lot of people out there. People are in it for TV and celebrities and not the football. Then you wonder what all the people are thinking and watching while at a football match about a TV show.

My issue is the number of people who've turned up for this when it was apparently quite pricey on the arguably most stay at home night of the week and it's 12 degrees. The excuses for people not to go to football are being lifted tonight. They're clearly not there for the football but rather the 'spectacle'.

Of course I'd rather this than nothing at all but it bugs me that a poster campaign with some little Welsh town that put a bit of Hollywood on it can get more attraction for a kickabout than matches that count for something with a lot of our local talent.
