FFS - 15 players !
I had a rant in another thread about Development not long ago and the state of our system - the above is what happens when you invest in your system and set up for the future as we know about Japan.
Now watch many other Asian opponents that we know are investing for the future far far better than us.
Thanks Quicky good intel to see and deflating at the same time haha

are you seeing angry ol men Quicky screaming to the clouds hahaha
Oh hang on its me lol..........
Luv Peacock good fella and he gets it !
By the way lets mention Simon Hill - bet you he wouldn't be much different but he was diplomatic due to where his salary came from and he left.

So J1 had 10 moves to Europe and there were another 7 Europe to Europe moves.

By comparison the AL had 1 move to Europe and there were 7 Europe to Europe moves for Aussies.

Our moves were mostly at low level leagues the biggest being Toure to Championship and Bozinowski to Eredivisie - 2nd tier comps at high levels.

Japan had 8 moves to top 5 leagues, all the Bundesliga. Japan had 6 to 2nd tier comps - the other were 2nd division teams (I think - doing this from memory).

That's a massive gap.

yer that doesn't make sense but good luck to Wood !
Quicky - as someone posted elsewhere we are not comparing apples with apples re Japan and us.
Population diff - no Gov funding to us compared to Jap yaddayadda rightly so.
Thats the BAR though even without Gov funding imo.
We have been sitting on our bums for decades - our FA's past to present just cover their salaries and make sure our/there cash cow NT's bring in the bacon and neglect improving our system for we have the cattle ! The Jnrs - the Rego numbers.
Work on a true all synced Development system - correct the pyrimid - fix the gap Age groups.
More games more games.
So much should be done.

This is big... 🇳🇿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿

The All Whites will warm up for the FIFA World Cup by taking on one of the tournament favourites England football team in Florida this June 🙌

be interesting to know/understand Why Bundas ends up being their go to ? not putting it down at all just why are German clubs seeing so much value buying compared to other comparable leagues.
Why haven't SerieA/Lique1 and more EPL clubs not buying for we know they can cut the mustard.

There have been plenty of Japanese players in Italy and England but Germany is still most popular due to the technical and disciplinary aspects of the game.

JS no where as plenty to me but your there.
Found a interesting breakdown and intel on the Japs.
Amazing - so Belguim actually is a strong pathway for them first up.

Path to top clubs goes through Belgium

The acquisition of Sint-Truiden VV (STVV) in the Belgian first division by Japan's DMM Group in 2017 became a turning point for Japanese players transferring to Europe. Takehiro Tomiyasuand Wataru Endo demonstrated their abilities at STVV andeventually stepped up to prestigious clubs in top Europeanleagues. The market value of Japanese players and theirtransfer fees also increased. In some cases, Japanese clubswhich nurtured such players were able to receive a portion of the fees.

The number of Japanese football players (both men and women) inmajor European leagues has surpassed 100, a 90% increase in fiveyears.

Overseas transfers enter a new stage

The number of men playing in major European leagues in the 2024-25season increased by 50% from the 2019-20 season.

A lot of Koreans go to the Bundesliga. They’re starting to prefer the EPL after the success of Park Ji-sung and especially Son Heung-min though.

In the women's game, Japanese players flock to the WSL. Japan has the second-highest number of current non-English WSL players after Sweden.

Literally read the first paragraph and it shows how stupid FIFA rankings are. The USA being fourth in the world? I would argue that the Socceroos have a bigger legacy than the USMNT in terms of individual players, our 2006 team was one of the greatest non-CONMEBOL/UEFA teams in history.
