Rivalry Watch

USA may pull out a fortunate win against Australia to save Poch's job. That is, if he's still there. They're really bad at the moment.

South Korea were the better team but I concerns on the USA, they looked quite average going into their home World Cup.

South Korea poised and the Americans disjointed but not without the odd chance. I think Australia are very susceptible to any opponent with a bit of skill getting those chances. The defence is good but opponent attackers still get the better of us once or twice which makes all the difference.

Just watching Mexico Japan now. Seeing the line ups with anime look cool for something different. Oh fuck me they played on a baseball field in Oakland.

A goalless stalemate with a few chances for each side. Japan have some very obvious trends in their attack with short passing and dribbling around the box. Australia seem to have nullified this with their compact defence and constant hassling. I wonder which other countries may come up with something to keep them more at bay?

Quicky, how would you compare those '25 moves compared to ours re Top 5 and below league standing/ranking even though we hardly know our main core much nowadays barring the exceptions.
Hope you understand my question ?
It's hard to say without knowing the playing prospects but 9 moves into/between top 5 leagues is impressive for them. We had 2 by comparison. But we also pulled off quite a few moves into the best 2nd tier leagues, 12 compared to their 6. Then a lot lot more into Europe in general at decent clubs below that.

yer agreed - you never know they'll be bench warmers or regular play time for yer I was surprised they had that many in top 5 leagues actually for they don't show they have the standards.
As for us 2nd tier is about our level field just depends how many minutes they get just as mentioning the yanks.
Loan outs etcetc

Got Saudi Czech friendly on. Should be an interesting watch.

It's not a penalty for Czech Republic but the way Saudi are carrying on with a European ref they get a yellow card.

The ball was crossed and he was swept from behind but it was really both players sliding at the same time. You'd hate to see it given in a competitive game.

USA beat Japan 2:0. Mexico South Korea 2:2.
Japan B side by the looks of it. But as we know still quality players. US looks to have deserved the win as well, more passes, more shots, more big chances.
Japan seemed to have played their starters against Mexico for the 0-0. But they look to have had the better of that match.

ah, explains the unexpected - so it was a kickabout for the Japs whereas Poch's USA would have gone hard for this and most start up players.
Pretty much explains the result.

Even weaker than the one we faced by the looks of it

Still phenomenol

Japan's A team aren't exactly a team yet. They're really struggling to the end product or close out games in a sense of reaching a world cup semi final. They've got to be careful not to have a team of stars but rather a star team.

Japan have never shown to be a team of stars all the years you’ve seen them get to where are - they will primed and ready as a team as they normally are JS.
It’s not in their dna to have cocky stars players and reliant on them.
They’ll be ready I’ve got no doubt.

They're still a better team than a bunch of individuals but they're definitely struggling to incorporate all that talent. No goals this window but lots of great movement. Bit like Arsenal trying to walk the ball into the net.

Yeah that's great preparation for New Zealand.
