Random former players (NSL/A-league) that for some reason you still remember

I’ll start - Michael Reda.

I would say around 92/93 when I started really getting into the NSL (I was 7-8 years old) I remember seeing this guy play for Paramatta Eagles and thinking he was a gun. Was he a winger? I was devo at the time when I heard he was joining Adelaide City- I was certain him joining the enemy would help them inflict more pain on us.

Looking back now he seemed to end up having a quite underwhelming career - becoming a bit of a journeyman after he left the Eagles.
 
I can twist this.

When I went to Canberra Cosmos (another great name for a team!) games in the NSL, there was an opposition player, maybe for Newcastle but guessing that, with Fabio hair.

We used to call out "Fabio! Give us a wave" and he would wave.

But I don't remember who he was.

Great thread topic.. Ill try and stay out of it because I will tie myself in knots naming every Hellas idol I can remember hahahahahah but Ill be reading :)
 
I remember at a home game against Sydney Olympic at Hindmarsh Stadium - Norm Tome swearing at the linesman for about a minute straight and didn’t get a card. I heard the F bomb every second word.

ChatGPT could probably narrow it down to about 500 players from that era.
 
I remember John Coyne of Brisbane City (father of Chris Coyne) in the early NSL days. When I was 18 I played my first reserve team game against Brisbane City reserves, and John Coyne played for Brisbane City because I think he was coming back from injury or had been dropped from the first team. He had played for Australia the previous season or earlier that season, so I've always been a bit chuffed that my first senior game was against a Socceroo.

Cameron Watson and Adam Hughes- it was a toss up as to who was Adelaide United's worst ever player.
