IS this essentially the old "What Grinds my Gears" thread from 442? I've been meaning to start one of these for a while, but have been holding off until the bucket has been kicked (because even though I don't wish death upon people in the grand scheme of things - public sphere and all that - I think that's out the window when it comes to people who actually personally affect you.

My wish may come sooner than you think - I can't remember if I posted about this on the old forum, but I will look and dig it up if I have when the time comes.

'What grinds my gears' is a thread for far more mundane things like people who sit in the right hand land and sit below the speed limit or won't stand on the left on escalators.

Again, piss weak judges and courts. Absolutely nothing to do with race. Thugs need locking up. While some countries maintain the system is about rehabilitation, allowing people to roam freely in public is just asking for trouble. Once you cross enough of a line, you ought to be taken out to a place in Arizona or Iowa and go through the system there, away from the general public.

The ABC is conveniently quiet on other topics as are most public broadcasters.

I think such a topic would warrant investigation by someone out there. Via Murdoch there is a lot of funding and uncovering such horror would increase readership. That's all they care about. You'd hope the ABC reporting then leads to some action against this.

The ABC does far more investigative stuff compared to any news organisation in Australia.

That's a fact.

They do the boring, complicated stuff that's important meanwhile over at news.com.au they're taking about some shit that happened on a flight when someone didn't get the correct meal and flipped out. Or a Kardashian or some celebrity's nip slip.
