Yeah i see duke as way ahead of daggers even at 35, especially since having him in the squad allows something very different. If u are defending a lead who better to bring on and press like a demon. He also has a set piece threat and is handy on the counter. A nightmare for a team chasing the gameIn hindsight Duke would've been useful at the world cup but he kept turning up on borrowed time and saving himself at the last. To hear he was much more on the outer in the training group is surprising. D'Agostino shouldn't have been there.
I once saw some old footage of Cahill playing in an Under 14s match. He never headed the ball- he just kept the ball at his feet and went past everyone.Crazy thing about Tim Cahill is he still would have a good goal scoring record for the roos even if he never scored a header. Was also 2-footed scoring some very difficult goals with his left foot. Because he rarely showed flair he was probably technically underrated
24 goals were scored with his feet with 6 of them with his non preferred foot
left inside the box: 5
left outside the box: 1
right inside the box: 16
right outside the box: 2
header 26
Or a good football trivia question. “What goalkeeper conceded hat tricks from Messi and Suarez … in the same game?”Maty played in that famous 7-0 loss to Barca. He did get to play against arguably one of the best forward lines of all time. Makes a good story one day.
