Good question. I'm not sure. Probably depends on the individual organisation structures. There could be some that are paid fixed fees, some that are on a per meeting fee and some that are unpaid volunteers. With the APL being a private company, there would almost certainly be fees paid to the board members. On the other hand, the PFA is a not-for-profit union so the structure and renumeration would likely be very different. Receiving some sort of fee is only one aspect of it. There would be expenses associated with simply holding a board meeting.

I think it would be more feasible for Capital Football to amalgamate with Football New South Wales instead of creating a new NPL South especially given the storied history of many NPL Victoria clubs and their reluctance to jump ship from their existing comp unless they're forced to do so.

For solely at an NPL level? Would be much better to force Capital Football to expand their catchment area than amalgamate with either NSW or VIC.

They should - ideally - create a boundary/border system that accounts for what NPL is closest to the area (I've covered in another thread in detail below)

I might actually try and get something made up on Google Earth for how I personally think the best way to restructure this is in reality without changing too much. How?

Well, what I'll do is I'm get to set a pinpoint on the CBD of all 9 member federations:

• NSW - Sydney
• VIC - Melbourne
• QLD - Brisbane
• SA - Adelaide
• WA - Perth
• TAS - Hobart
• NNSW - Newcastle
• ACT - Canberra
• NT - Darwin

Actually, I will be leaving Tas out of this, because Tas is pretty simple and just include any club from anywhere in the state.

But with the other 8, I'm going to extend a...

IF there's a conference level though that is to cover multiple areas, then yes - NSW would be the best selection

Would love what many have suggested to come to pass... however don't hold your breath the state Feds won't vote themselves out of decision making processes.

Meaning we are kinda stuck with our current structures.

Another home truth is Cricket, AFL n NRL, produce between 25 to 30 adds per hour. In a two hour broadcast they will get at least 20 adds and up to 60.

Using the NRL as an example, 80 minute games goes for at best 85 minutes leaving 35 minutes for adds and a panel showing highlights, plus adds with every try on average 8 to 9 tries per game.

Assume Pannell show 10 minutes that leaves 25 minutes say 50 adds plus the 8 tries so 60 adds.

Football over two hours goes for about 97 minutes, leaving 23 minutes less say 7 minutes of the Pannell show so 16 minutes or 32 adds plus say 4 goals at best 36 adds, roughly half .

What all this means is have at best 50 percent of add space and the lowest viewership by a fair margin.

Add into the mix, travel, lack of media and often a hostile media.

However grand the systems being identified they structural are near impossible given where we are.

The key as suggested by the guy from Football360 is stability...

As I have discussed with MON, we cannot get perfect or close to it...so do we want perfect to get in the way of good with no chance of achieving perfect

But the idea of promotion only for the next 12 teams with the key being stability plus whatever is added to that IMO is workable and again IMO that makes it perfect given where we are.

Yeah if ACT include a wider area again (recompense Yoogali!!) then I wouldn't expect them to join an "East" conference as it would be too much travel. Likewise if Brisbane reintroduce their regional centres to NPL, that would be their own "North" conference.

Not sure if it would be too hard to do a single North QLD NPL. Might be worthwhile doing something like incorporating that Champions League thingy they have, and using that as a promotion mechanism to connect North to the rest of the pyramid.

Yeah that's exactly what I meant. Sorry, I didn't mean all of regional QLD would be at NPL level
