The npl gf had 2 curtain raiser games and many stayed back for the main game. It also had an enormous contingent of croatians which obviously you wont get here being an interstate team opponent. It was also a 7pm kick off, i was there from the first game and watched the crowd build hour after hour as the games went on.

This ones starting at 3pm. I just dont see it being that big. We will need the northern suburbs Greeks to come out in huge numbers.

They are a great team but they looked suspect defensively when we played in behind them. They dont like having to actually defend. A huge contrast to the A league sides they knocked over that just passed sideways and backwards all game.

Exactly this, they DON'T like to defend.... Of all the matches Ive seen Heidelberg play this season, that second half was the most uncomfortable I have seen them.

Almost flawless game plan from Sisi and massive heart from our lads saw us over the line.... must have been great drama for the neutral, it was end to end stuff at times and the semi had EVERYTHING... we march on to history.

A female friend of mine who attends semi regularly and is always missing golds because she is chatting was fully absorbed!

Yeah it sort of had everything really, a fine contest for the neutral... 2 penalties waved away, one saved, fairly end to end, some fine saves from both keepers... Great advertisement for second division football. And over all not too dirty a contest for semi final either... I think we deserved the win on the day but the Bergers players can hold their heads up high, it was well fought.

It was worthy of a Grand Final. It was stressful for South and Heidelberg fans, but would have been great theatre for neutral fans.
 
I also think Heidelberg showed respect to our high intense press by going long on pretty much all goal kicks. They tried playing over our press and we did the same to them. The difference was we are comfortable under the high ball and they dont like being turned around facing their own goal. They dont have a long throw threat either which they looked uncomfortable defending all game. As i said Heidelberg prefers the slower type game that A league sides gave them where they just go sideways and backwards. We actually had more possesion and shots were even, but our intent to move the ball quickly they did not like.

They actually did try and play out quite a few times but realised were were gonna press high and they almost got caught out by both Bonada and Aguek late in the game..

Bonada running at everyone in that bergers backline continuously must ve given them nightmares.. i still think they looking over their shoulders to see if he is coming.. hahaa
