Official South Melbourne Hellas thread 🔵⚪

We are so wasteful in the final third, frustrating.
A little unlucky as well though. Yuki's little turn and dink to hit the crossbar would have been the goal of the round if it was 3 inches lower.. and Im still not convinced Manny was offside... We are creating chances, just need a little polish to convert.

Good takeaways:
Giannakop is a solid fill in if needed at the back, but we lose that pitbull bite in the middle. Menelaou did well against weak opposition, so will be a good reating option for NPL.

Cant work out if habib just doesnt run or runs so awkwardly he gives the impression of not running, surely doesnt mark though!

Kaddour im assuming needs time as he has some good parts to his game but im not sure he is a right back, got caught out of position way too much didnt he?

I think id have run Bonada in the modfield today and had lavale start.

Bad takeaways:
This thing with Msrouni has to be a joke now!
Jankovic gives me the impression he will burn us at the most wrong time,
Strongly disagree with Lavale... that one on one wasted chance infuriated me. He's phoning it in, waiting for an A League call up.... bench him.

Tend to agree.

The match was live on SBS TV, and the weather was absolutely awful. It was Melbourne’s coldest November day in over a century. Plus it did not stop raining all day.
AND the wind, it felt like it was below 10 degrees. No excuses for the poor crowd but perhaps already qualifying for what may be a big QF at home kept people on the coach?

Lavale is a handy player. He's probably still adjusting to not being in the A League. If he's smart he would look at having a stellar Australian Championship performance with South Melbourne in order to boost his chances of getting another A League contract.

He's very quick but last two outings has been a consistent turn over of the ball through poor touch or poor passing choice...
