Such a missed opportunity, could you imagine the buzz if we played that type of football smashing A league teams?

Johnny A football at lakeside against A league teams in the cup is getting over 5k crowds dont care what anyone says.

Fair play to bergers but its such a waste when you only see 1500 there tonight meanwhile our fatigued battlers who were no hope still pulled just under 4k.

In terms of the sliding door moment, 2 years ago heidelberg finished 9th with about the same points tally as us. Literally where we are now, 1 person has gone there and turned them into worls beaters and he could have been ours, but our muppets were blinded by Esteball.

It really does defy all logic FFS!

Question is (JA aside) what should we do now given we know he cant move on him succesfully?
How do we best approach the championship to hopefully go out and win it? Or are we in need of a reality check (football slapping) here to perhaps wake up and then make the right moves?

Realistically we arent a contender for the championship, the aim should be to win our home games and hopefully make the knockout phase.

We will bring in a few players but im not sure it will elevate us that much as our football department is still quite ordinary.

Until the likes of JA leave heidelberg (hopefully for A league), CT leaves Oakleigh etc we will be strugglers relative to those teams. Including Avondale we've never been able to sign those teams best players.

Personally im just wrapped we got the dockerty cup because i dont expect to see us win much silverware moving forward.

The irony is the championship is whats killed any chance of us getting JA as well lol.

If JA was so hard up for cash that an extra 300 bucks a week was enough to make him reneg on an agreement and sign for a rival then it was the right move in my opinion...

Sorry Im not sure exactly WHAT Heidelberg HAS achieved in 2 seasons? Any silverware Im not aware of?

In the same time period, with 6 different coaches, South have 2 Dockerty cups, a premiership and a community shield cup.... just saying :cool:

Auckland was FAR greater a challenge than Wellington last night.... even Nuna almost beat them... lets not all lose our heads... :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

As for "beautiful football" drawing crowds.... its been a long long time since we did any of that, I would say the past month or so has shown glimpses.....
 
Will do my best to get down as a neutral to support the game, the Comp and traditional clubs. Marconi v Heidelberg at the Marconi club Friday night, Sydney Olympic v south Melbourne on Saturday at Kogarah I believe. Good weekend lined up all going well.

Pretty easy to get to Kogarah, there’s a train station nearby etc hopefully better weather that weekend than what we’ve been having lately ffs
