Id take him, on the bench, over at least 3 others in the squad.lets not lose our minds.. a decent squad player but not for a star team!
Pope wasnt a starter even before he left.... Still recall the two he put past the Knights all those many moons ago.... kid has heart.Agree - he was good value to come off the bench and provide fresh legs for 15-20 minutes. With the quality of our midfield with Pasquali, Retre and Giannakopoulos, he was never going to start.
The one I feel we should have kept is Leech. Thought he was good value.
The one injury that is really hurting us at the moment is that of Alex Menelaou. We desperately need him back in order to give either Pasquali or Giannakopoulos a rest.
Sarcasm re!! Im greek it needs to show! HahahaNope.... Why would he be, we threw away the Dockerty Cup remember?
Yes....over Lackay for sure, even with one leg! HahaaId take him, on the bench, over at least 3 others in the squad.
NothingAny news on tickets for next week yet?
This is the sort of sustainability all clubs should aim for. We don't need every team and every game to be in a 30k stadium. Not many have access to facilities like South Melbourne though. Here's an interesting bit of contrasting information:
South, who need only gates of 1500 to break even at their 13,000-capacity Lakeside Stadium, believe they are a model in the self-sustainability.
That contrasts starkly with Melbourne City, who need crowds of 14,000 per game to break even on their AAMI Park deal.
That was from a 2017 SBS article, so not sure of today's figures, but I imagine attendances above 5000 per game would generate around $100k in profit, assuming $25-30 per person between ticket and food/drinks.
Agree 100%. Not many do have facilities like SMFC (another reason they should be allowed in), but they do have alternatives available. This is the sort of sustainability all clubs should aim for. Apart from Tommy G who else is on yellow peril? If Avondale and Hume win on Saturday and Preston cop a further points deduction tonight then we pretty much cant move from 4th spot, so by Sunday we will know. If it plays out like that it will be a day for the fringe players. Bearing in mind though that if we lose we could meet bergers again in the elimination final. The stakes are too high to put any player at risk this weekend. Lampard needs to play if he is any chance to come up for next Wednesday.
Messourouni, Lackay, Nkomo, etc all start. If we can get Lampard and Eliopoulos in for a run thats a bonus.
Preston also play a day before us which isnt ideal.
You're spot on. If Avondale defeat Altona Magic, then Sinisa should just start bench players and a group of U20/23s players. Nothing to be gained. Have the best starting XI fully rested for the Preston match where the priority is.If Avondale and Hume win on Saturday and Preston cop a further points deduction tonight then we pretty much cant move from 4th spot, so by Sunday we will know. What was said?My read was that bill sounded pessimistic about the meeting with apl
