Did James Lackey produce the worst game of football ever played? Lost the ball every single time, looked out on his feet and somehow still managed to miss what looked like an open goal.

At least Mesourouni stays invisible lol.

The co presidents can talk about our 32 man squad blah blah but once you go past our first 16 or so it falls off a cliff. We do not have a 2 competitions squad.

Why cant we just play our best team first 45 and then make changes? All those players ended up playing a half anyway.
We had a starting XI that was more or less full-strength but dropping points to Hume City has shown that either some of our forwards are failing to fire or we don't have enough depth in the playing list, or both.

Depth looked an issue when squad was announced and we have been calling it out from then to be fair.

Jankovic decision to dribble.out of the backline aka Van Dyke style was the worst moment in the reel of what was the (ma)Lackey show...

Has anyone else worked out what this 32 man squad is?? 16 worthwhile seems optimistic given what we have seen!! I see 13 at best and then a chaotic divide in talent/ability!

Missing from our starting 11 against Avondale were Lampard, Painter Andrews, Eliopoulos, Mikkola (all 4 not in squad for this. Uchida, Bonada and Gianokopoulos on the bench.

7 of our starters against Avondale did not start this game. I dont think any team could cover having so many players out.

I kinda didnt understand having Pasquale starting allongside some genuine D grade talent.

By the looks of it Sinisa conceeded the game at half time. Then saw we pulled one back straight away and then felt compelled to throw Uchida and Bonada. We were a disjointed mess though and both struggled.

Didn’t need to drop so many starting players.

Clearly we are focussing on the OFC for now
I really hope the gamble pays off for the holidaymaking idiots in charge.. If they come back from the land of coconuts and grass skirts with nothing but a tan and a strange rash AND we get relegated it could very well be the straw that breaks out backs...

Mesourouni did NOT stay invisible though, coughed up the ball on 3 dangerous occasions.. If Hume wasnt so diabolically shit we would have lost by more... As for Lackey, poor kid must be the ONLY Aleague academy player who isnt fast or can dribble a full back... Lord knows he tried the same thing over and over and over again, if that was in the back yard the other kid would have just gone home from boredom.

Τι μαλακιες 32 man squad? We have cover for 2 wings and one full back at best, the rest are traffic cones... This OCL thing is going to expose some fundamental cracks in the football department that hiring a full time marketing liaison and corporate sponsor experience manager or whatever other bullshit make believe roles they fill isnt going to be able to paper over... Come August September we'll ebe playing in front of 15-20 people .. Lets hope they have booked Djs and food eaters for the Championship again.

PS. the Souv was OK, but $20 for a roll and 6 pieces of meat??? ...

So, you have no faith in your chairman?
After watching the interview... no not really... Typical career hand shaker, says all the right things, feels warm and fuzzy about what he is supposed to feel.. Always going to be suspicious of those who use my club as a vessel to other things ... but you know me, I aint happy unless I'm whinging about something, if we win the CLub World Championship Ill still be upset the didnt put the players names on the back of the jerseys and I can buy a club polo shirt... lol.

Victory and City. Primarily because they were petrified of losing all their Greek supporters back to South. Not really a secret. MV in particular have been very consistent on this from day dot, and ultimately done well to snuff South out at every opportunity, no ill will because you cant really blame them.
Do you think any of the other franchsies would welcome us with open arms knowing full well that we would cannibalise a small proportion of their support wherever we travelled and more importantly would be the ember that pushed ethnics clubs in their own georgrpahic catchement areas to seek to apply and jojn the Aleague directly effecting Sydney or Wanderes etc?

In fact the only franchise Im willing to bet would welcome us back is Perth. and maybe ... maybe Brisbane. All the rest have too much to lose.

Last night was a good test to see whether our second string players could stand up to one of the weakest teams in the NPL. It became abundantly clear at halftime that they were not. We have a strong 13-15 first team squad of players which we saw defeat Avondale comfortably last week. The remaining squad members are largely not up to starting at any top 5 NPL teams. We do not have a decent 30 man squad. To be honest, we are about 3-4 quality signings short in order to balance both the NPL Victoria and OFC Pro League competitions.

Not starting with 7 players from last week's Avondale match was ambitious, and the pressure would be on the kids. Try as they might, but Skapoulas is not a left back. He is a winger and that's where his natural position is. Not going to have a go at him given he was played out of position. That's where Hume City kept attacking us from. Pope offered nothing moving forward, and for his own sake, he should move to another lower NPL or high VPL1 club. Lackay had an absolute shocker of a match. Everything he tried to do did not work. His defender beat him every single time he tried to dribble him.

Cocks may have some limitations but he has a crack and is always taking on players and creating headaches for opposition defences. At one point, Hume players were double teaming him to try and stop his weaving runs. I thought O'Sullivan's performance at right back was acceptable and has done enough to assist the team in the OFC Pro League to allow Painter-Andrews to focus on the NPL Victoria competition.

The most annoying thing to come out of last night was we had Giannakopoulos, Swibel, and Jankovic play 45 minutes, and Uchida and Bonada play 30 minutes. This will mean they will be forced to be substituted at around the 65-75 minute mark against Auckland to put on fresh legs. Yesterday's loss puts added pressure on the team to defeat Auckland on Saturday night.
