Perhaps - but again, I don't know the full circumstances - any official entering the field should be getting these punishments. In our game against UNSW, Miro Vlastelica got a red card in the 95th min.
The lineman on the grandstand side is apparently shaken up after the game and he asked FNSW to pull out of his fixtures for sunday saying he is upset and traumatized. lol these refs are fucken soft.
I know when I was refereeing, I knew I was the law, and I didn't give a shit what anyone else on the field thought of me, unless I knew I got it wrong (which only happened once in my very first game in youth NPL). I do think it's a bit soft of those who don't what to do any fixtures - but if officials are entering the field to do this, well - that's on the clubs. I don't mind if there's discussions after the game (and that's happened a couple times with me)
Like.. with Victoria, there's all these complaints about the lengthy suspensions for these red cards where players/managers/coaches/officials are either directly threatening/putting hands (or heads in one instance) on the referee, or coming on the field if they aren't a player to argue with the referee in the middle of a game. And all of these instances (that I've seen) - just learn to control yourselves in the dugout ffs.
