Manly dug in good on them thought as such.
Beretta Manly support are not good travellers they honestly couldn’t be bothered getting over the bridge or west.

These governing bodies are so fucking hypocritical. At the national and state level.

They just like the fine revenue and sucking up to the police as to how well behaved everyone is at the same time.

Ah yes flares cant only come out at night as well. With scenes so unacceptable that fv used them as apart of their season promo campaign🤦‍♂️

Very good atmosphere to be honest. Only banter I saw was every time the GK kicked it and for penalties there were kids behind the goal. Nothing too crazy.

I didn't notice anyone with Manly jerseys off the pitch so hard to know.

We’ll see what happens. As I say I’m only one voice but I’ve already reached out the club to remind them of the importance that the club remains competitive going forward and that the transition rebuild period is managed well. You don’t want to be undoing all the good work the club has done in the last 5-10 years

The clubs in a bit of an awkward spot atm where by it’s probably too late in the day to be bringing in new coaches and a whole new squad prior to the championship, but it’s also not ideal having to play with a coaching staff and a playing group who are already elsewhere mentally. Somewhat reminiscent of the situation Sydney united found themselves in last year heading into the championship. It’s not just gonna be one or two players to plug gaps, a rebuild will be required. The current crop are almost gonna be equivalent to the mercenaries Olympic will likely have playing for them this season in the championship

I fear for Marconi. They've checked out since the announcement. Will be very hard to turn it around.. lets see.
 
For a club like Marconi and its massive revenue stream what was the point of slashing the budget by 300k ?

Very much been doing it on the quiet whilst everyone's attention has been focused on the top three and the gypsies.

Unless they're contracted to the Championship I'd be asking the coaching staff to clean out their desks & telling anybody else who is checking out to fuck off right now.

Ruthless but sometimes you have to be in football.

800k down to 500k is that not in line with most npl teams? Again, if you’re optimistic maybe they know more than what’s public re nsd. Don’t forget it’s a public club who are ostensibly owned by its memebership. They have to remain solvent, it’s not just some benefactor throwing his or her money down the drain for the love of it. Maybe it’s to pay for the recent upgrades to club facilities etc. who knows

Also the gov are considering bringing in new gambling laws, maybe they’re expecting a downturn in revenue from pokies.

I think a few of the Championship clubs will look quite mercenary from both a playing and coaching perspective this year... Not a good look or feel for us NPL tragics but somethign that wont effect the caual fans that are "once a year, big event" types.

A proper H and A can't come soon enoguh.

Things like this are always connected to the wishes of their patrons. I understand professionalism however the wage bill is a bit much across all clubs. It's an interesting precedent actually, if one or two other clubs decide to reduce their wage bill then the rest will follow suit. The players will adjust as they're not fully professional anyway.
 
FINAL SEASON GRADINGS - TOP 8





1st - APIA Leichhardt (68 points) – Grading A – They were favorites from the start of the season, tipped to win the premiership and with a stacked squad, enough to field two solid teams, they delivered.



2nd - Sydney United 58 (64 points) - Grading A – 10 Game unbeaten run, 9 wins in a row, Won the Waratah cup, another Australia Cup run, Pundits predicted United 6th or 7th, so they’ve exceeded expectations, especially after the dismal Championship Campagne.



3rd – Marconi (62 points) – Grading C – Strong start and middle part of the season, the collapse started once the coaching departures were announced, which followed an unsettled dressing room. Their performance last night against spirit highlighted that, they looked beaten and out.



4th Sutherland (46 Points) – Grading C+ – Pundits predicted Sutherland to win the premiership or at least be the top 2 with their open cheque book. 22 points off APIA in the end. Positives are they qualified for the championship and have reignited the local public in the shire with great crowds.



5th Manly United (44 Points) – Grading B+ - Predicted to be fighting relegation this season, there young guns have showed up with only 1 loss in their last 13 games. Knocked out a heavy favorite in Sutherland last night. Dark Horse.



6th NWS Spirit (41 Points) – Grading B – Fighting Spirit, I don’t think anyone predicted they’d be in the situation they find themselves in after David Perkovic left after last season, and the start of the season they had with media attention to Callum Kealey. Kudos.



7th SD Raiders (41 Points) – Grading A - There ambition would have been to avoid relegation this season. They managed that easily plus more. Another Australia Cup appearance and only missed out on Finals football by GD.



8th Sydney FC (41 Points) – Grading B – The little fuckers can run, best kid academy in the country in my opinion, always deliver and always up for the fight. A Draw with Sydney Olympic on the final day stopped them from making their first ever finals appearance.

FINAL SEASON GRADINGS - BOTTOM 8




9th Rockdale (40 Points) – Grading D – I’m sure their supporters would agree that it’s been a failure of a season, most pundits predicted and had Rockdale in the top 4, but this season just didn’t click. Players looked like they didn’t want to play for the badge. Clear out is needed.



10th WSW (38 Points) – Grading C – The kids held their own, most predicted them to finish in a relegation spot, a few gems to come out of the system, Kuol being one of them.



11th Wollongong Wolves (38 Points) – Grading D – Promising start to the season, however that all changed once Luke Wilkshere left for World Cup Commentary duties and it’s become a disaster ever since. Constantly playing at different home grounds doesn’t help. One must wonder where the ambition is down south.



12th St Geroge FA (37 Points) – Grading C – Was shit for most of the season until a late final serge which kept them afloat and almost into the top 6. Pass Mark



13th Blacktown City (35 Points) – Grading E – First time not in the finals in NPL history? Trail came error with too many young ones not enough experience. Mid-year signings kept them away from relegation. Interesting to see where the club goes from here next season, pay your rent.



14th UNSW – (32 Points) – Grading C – Pass mark, avoided relegation, job done. Get a new ground FFS. My tip is they will get second year syndrome next season.



15th St Geroge Saints (27 Points) – Grading E – Promising start early in the season. Didn’t concede a goal in 6 games, the club was decimated with injuries and never recovered. Sacking there coach so early on came back to bite them in the ass. They have enough about them to win their relegation promotion qualifier.



16 Sydney Olympic (23 Points) – Grading F – From top to bottom, a massive failure and rightfully relegated. The people running the club has completely fucked them, and the push back from the Sydney Olympic faithful was a little too late. I hope they can recover, like others past them, but it won't be an easy ride.
