I was embarrassed to be sitting beside my female friends and family, who were subjected to the disgusting language coming from these people. It was unprovoked, unnecessary and completely anti-football. I didn't personally see the banners that were displayed, but I can only imagine the disgust felt by the South Melbourne supporters, including the men, women and children who attended.

I am proud to be Macedonian, but this political nonsense has no place in Australian football. At the end of the day, Preston supporters will chant "Makedonia" and South supporters will chant "Hellas" because those names are part of each club's history and identity. That is football tradition. What happened on Saturday went far beyond that and crossed every acceptable line.

Unfortunately, it is the players, coaches, volunteers, sponsors and genuine supporters who will suffer through point deductions, sanctions and reputational damage because of a minority who clearly don't care about the game or the club they claim to support. I love a passionate atmosphere when it's football related, respectful and within the spirit of the game. Rivalries should be intense for 90 minutes, but once the final whistle blows, you shake hands, respect your opponent and move on.

I want to thank South Melbourne for their hospitality. Everything I experienced from your club and supporters was respectful, and I hope that mutual respect continues between both clubs moving forward.

Those responsible for Saturday's disgrace deserve nothing less than a minimum 5 year ban. Their actions, including offensive and abusive behaviour towards women, intimidating members of the public, burning national flags, stealing scarves from casual supporters, and using vile language both inside and outside the stadium—have no place in football or society.

The players, the club and the genuine supporters should not continue to be punished for the actions of these uncivilised individuals. Sadly, this is the same group whose previous behaviour contributed to the club's six-point deduction. This is not an isolated incident, it's a pattern. They appear only for ethnic rivalry matches, using them as an excuse to push political extremism rather than support the team. They were present at Oakleigh and North Sunshine away matches, and they disappear for the regular fixtures where you'll find the same loyal supporters, women, children and elderly fans who turn up week after week because they genuinely love Preston Lions.

PB is NOT what Preston Lions represents, nor what the wider Macedonian community stands for. Their pathetic behaviour has tarnished the reputation that so many people have spent years rebuilding and has damaged the relationship between two historic clubs that have, for the most part, worked hard to move beyond old divisions for the good of Victorian football.

It's time for the club and the authorities to draw a line. Enough is enough.

Always a good day out. United deserved winners. No official attendance published but i would estimate somewhere between 2,000-3,000 in the end. Nice touch imo from the club to display its history more prominently around the establishment with the refurb. As noted previously, can also tell they’ve made a point of modernising and bringing the level of the food offering up to current standards. Always get a kick out of the bocce set up too. Big part of Marconi’s history, particularly the early history. The club was actually founded as a bocce club which then rapidly expanded into a pan sports club of which football quickly became the flagship. There’s also tennis etc. How’s the photo of the Melbourne Veneto club nonni v the Sydney Marconi club nonni, these are the sorts of things which give these traditional clubs a unique character. Might not be of interest to anyone else and not my best work, but I’m a sicko so it’s of interest to me, enjoy;

Couldn't make it out there yesterday, watched the replay today. Tight game with limited chances. First time we've ever done the double over Marconi since the start of the NPL. Now the title race is back on.

Crowd looked decent too.

I do get where you are worried, as it will set a pyramid league back by decades if not more.

I'm trying to recall if I have seen a greek's tits before, def a half maco half greek (not trying to start a war)....italians,...other balkanites, euros sure...but specifically greek? maybe....surely...must've oh yeah!....anyway

the guys who did this probably don't even have hair on their balls...let alone worrying about tits. It's not even clever. They should do something really edgy, like 'no left turn'.

Nicely said mate, it's good to hear the club is internally doing something about it. No one is blaming the club as a whole or the supporter base, it's just the preston boys we have an issue with.

I am personally happy Preston is in the npl, i don't want them banned or even have points taken off them, i just would like to see the banter be about the actual clubs. Go nuts say what you want about south or heidelberg or whatever club, just don't turn it into something outside the scope of the game.

I couldn’t agree more, club banter is entertaining but there’s a fine line between derogatory, disrespectful and offensive behaviour/ language specifically all the political nonsense that has nothing to do with the sport. Keep the rivalry on the pitch.
That Oakleigh vs Preston game in round 1 was extremely cringe from our end having to hear PB’s shit all game. Again, it was a respectful display from your fans but the filth coming out of this group embarrassed some of our most loyal and hardcore fans. We still talk about it to this day. That says something and PB do not represent 99.9% of the people at PLFC.
 
Was an offical attendance announced in the end? Would imagine despite not being the biggest ever crowd between the two clubs for a variety of reasons it still would have been decent by npl standards. Good to see they’ve sorted out the souvlaki fwiw, important part of the match day experience at a Greek club
 
i recall the chant, "Greek Chicks, Hairy Tits" was very prevalent in the 90s on the terraces against the Greek clubs in sydney and melbourne, as a tongue in cheek banter / joke.

How times have changed.
