NPL 2026

I’m so over the bullshit of the politics from the 1990s. It’s friggen 2026.

Most Preston supporters who came to Lakeside were fine, but a certain section took it to another level. The banner “ANTI-HELLASS” is childish and dumb but I’m not going to get worked up about it. The banner “GREEK CHICKS HAIRY TITS” is misogynistic. When you burn a Greek flag outside the ground, then you’re taking it to another level. Leave the nationalist politics to the politicians.

South fans will chant Hellas and Preston fans will chant Makedonia. That’s just life.

It was a really good end to end match that finished 0-0. Both teams are quality sides.

Preston was on a suspended -3 point deduction. If that is activated, some Preston supporters could cost their team a potential finals spot.

Feels like at least a couple thousand in. Solid crowd and atmosphere for mid July which tends to be the hardest time of year for npl matches to attract crowds. Probably bigger than most of the mid day aus championship crowds. Good mix of home and away support, Sydney united always one of the best travellers outside the a league

Pitch isn’t perfect, but it’s fine apart from goal mouths and few divots. We’ve become spoilt. Looks like they’ve been using it for a junior comp or something. Give me this over synthetic any day. United worth their lead imo. Well taken goal

They usually protect it to the point that only firsts & 20's use it, everyone else uses the back fields
 
Marconi 0-1 Sydney United

United deserved winners. Poor performance from Marconi. Reminded me of the aus championship final v Hellas. Always disappointing when a decent crowd comes out. Marconi getting ahead and protecting a lead v Marconi going behind a chasing a game are very different prospects. Showed nothing going forward, no creativity, no urgency
 
Marconi 0:1 Sydney United. Marconi had a few half chances but didn't look like they would score.

Title race is back on.

It’s was a messy game overall got to say - maybe the pitch said it all was meant to be from koff.
Lots of loose ball from both sides.

Though yep all to play for top 3.
