NPL 2026

Thanks, suspected as much.

Are there any other revenue streams? Do SMFC own a social club separately that generates a bit of revenue?

I grew up nominally supporting Marconi in the old NSL (though my passion for them was somewhat tempered by playing against their youth teams as a junior, who were always arrogant pricks). I know Marconi are able to fund their football operations in part from revenue that the social club makes, so wondering whether any of the Melbourne clubs are similar.

Not as prevalent as up north.. Venetto club and Green Gully's Bistro are the only ones in the top few flights (Im forgetting someone I just cant think now).. Most clubs have a social club of some sorts, SMFC revenue stream from our's isnt enough to fund the first team, let alone the juniors set up or women's program. Merch and social club takings were better during the Aus Championship and the hope is that will increase moving forward...

There is of course the "robbing the parents of youth teams" myth that gets trotted around and, while Im sure some of the funds do trickle upwards, the amounts generated after all the expenses are tallied up would pale into insiginificance.

Alou kuol joing Blacktown is an interesting signing
