NPL 2026

And here i was hoping they would swollow him and he'd bust another franchise into annihalation..... hahaha
We laugh but we really shouldn't. What is happening at Olympic is a cautionary tale for ALL of our clubs Greek, Italian, Croatian whatever....

Do you think South were far from this situation in 2018 when we were bidding for an A League license.... and willing to trust some "investor" to dump 18 million into our account for part ownership of South Melbourne Hellas Inc?

To every NPL fan out there, keep your boards honest, stay in touch with what is happening at the club, voice your concerns... Protest if you have too like the Sydney Croatia guys did last year or the Preston guys did this year... these are community clubs they belong to US not the dodgy wog business bros.

We are ALL Sydney Olympic in one way or another.....

Agreed. A lot of Olympics issues stem from their lack of a long term home base of their own imo. So important for clubs to have physical assets, especially during tough times, that’s when you need to fall back on strong foundations. Otherwise they’re more susceptible to signing up to less than ideal financial solutions out of desperation. As I’ve stated previously, imo that was a big part of what lead to Brunswick juventus’ situation of mergers and de mergers and effective death as a club

It doesn’t mean a club like Olympic who don’t own their ground can’t survive something like this, obviously there’s enough people who care enough to try and do something about it, but it certainly makes it harder than it would be. Marconi, Preston or Melbourne knights having their own facilities allows for those clubs to regroup more easily imo

So Sydney Olympic Supporters page is getting sued for defamation for calling this guy a "fat bogan crook", "cowardly, incompetent, criminal and corrupt mafia" and my personal favourite "bogan benefactor member and his nimble and skinny board".
Too skinny. Clearly not eating enough souvlaki from the canteen.

Mono - bud agree and why we're talking about it - we all care.
I wouldn't call this guy a "suit" as MCG carries on but its always the fishs head in the big picture.
I really don't know why these types want to rule a sporting club but their ego - we know its not about making $.
Ruins it for the everyday simple followers like all of us.
We all have stories even at lower club levels what some DH Pres/or CFO work a club for themselves more than its players/supporters.

They do need to get a permanent home for all their teams - men, women and kids.

Preston dont own their ground either mate....

Yes, but it’s a long term home, they own the buildings etc I’d imagine, something similar to Hellas with lakeside no?
No mate, long term lease just like us.... Bulleen, Gully and Knights are the only clubs I can think of that own their own pitch. .

There is equity enough in "owning" a 40 year lease. With none of the maintenance costs and insurance nightmares involved.
