NPL 2025

Yeah i don't care about your clubs achievements during the years of the war in Vietnam, what has your club done in recent years besides.... Losing?

No, you lost 3 grand finals, the fact that you think you only lost 1 is laughable and shows how delusional you south fans are. I'll never forget that glorious day when we destroyed South 5-0 in the grand final. Was funny hearing the excuses as south fans exited early.

Yes Oakleigh is a small club but one that is slowly growing in recent years. Atleast we know what we are and aren't pretending to be some big super club. We've won 2 grand finals in the last 3 years and constantly been playing finals this past decade, give or take, so yes, id say we've been setting the benchmark, along with Avondale.

Yeah no worries, I'll go to vanilla and enjoy touching my frappe whilst i watch Oakleigh compete in the finals this year. You can enjoy sitting here with the rest of the delusional south melbourne supporters and come up with more conspiracy theories of Oakleigh, or talk about the good old days when South used to be relevant!

Also good on ya champ for taking personal shots at me, calling me illiterate, bi polar and a muppet, you're better than that, don't make it personal, be better.
You make me laugh...bless you! How many times premiers are you again?

Id say we'd be thinking of ya while playing AU Championship, you know the other national comp (your benchmark club cant get into mind you)..... but we wont... in truth you never mattered, never will, and you know it.... go play your finals series this year, then bye bye into your obscurity!
Pray you dont draw Preston though bc there may not be a venue available to NOT host them at "champ"!

I think we've done pretty well

We have a minority and I'm sure the club will work through it though imagine this was 10 years ago.

You reckon we'd be playing each other with little to no incidents.

Do we have a small group of idiots, sure we do.

Though if clubs were as open as south have been with us about gameday ops etc we would be fine.

Takes 2 to tango so while yes we have a bad element. Our opponents also tend to bring them them out when we play each other as well.
I just had a thought about how the South Melbourne fans were behaving at the 2 games this year.

At your ground, I felt there was an undercurrent of hostility, Whereas at our ground, I did not feel this at all.

Now, of course, there are some possible factors for this.

1. We had just commenced our AWFUL period, and we were not in a happy place
2. The two sets of supporters were further away from each other at our ground (we struggled to hear your 'insults')

But I believe that not having a standing area neuters people's ability to 'act out'. It is harder to run down to the fence, or parallel to the fence towards other fans.

I assume Preston is going to get a new grandstand? I mean, if that awful Oakleigh can get one, when they have NO fans, then shouldn't you?!!

I kept saying it, he won't join Oakleigh, but the south Melbourne fans on this forum insisted it was happening.

I don't know if Oakleigh has money or not but yes they are a small club that draws a small audience, so one would naturally assume that would mean they wouldn't have much money?

If you expect me to know Oakleighs finances, then sorry to disappoint, i have no idea. I also have no idea if what you are suggesting about our offer and him rejecting it, is factual or not.

on one hand you had no money to fork out for security guards and decided to play a game against preston behind closed doors and on the other hand you can fork out ridiculous amounts of cash for an A-League striker.

Unfortunately this will never happen...but all finals games should be moved to a netural location (e.g. Lakeside)...it makes it fair for all supporters to attend in a central location...play double headers and try and attract as much crowds as they possibly can...yeah Preston will be the absolute majority but it looks good for the FV...plus they cash in!!!

I think you'll find it wasn't JUST the South fans expecting Fornarolli to follow his son to Oakleigh ... but carry on turbo.

We pulled a crowd to a home match a few weeks ago thats 3 times the size of your stadium.

We got 10,000+ people through the gates in 3 Australia cup games last season.

Your budget has been the highest in Victoria for the last 2 decades and you've still won less silverware than South, thats despite the fact that everything gets funneled into the senior mens team as you dont run a womens program.

The only reason you won those grand finals is because your sooking led to your federation contacts shifting grand finals away from Lakeside, now we all suffer because of you lot by having our biggest games played at the matildas shithole. Thats your clubs legacy, thanks!

Cant finish in the top 2, out of the Australia cup, out of the Aus championship...you dont exactly get bang for your buck, and you still have no supporters, but as your club captain put it after the Preston game you prefer games behind closed doors lol.

The icing on the cake - you purposely lost to Victory, St Albans and tried to cough up the Knights game and you still cant relegate us lmao.

I'll happily take stick from certain clubs but never those Oakleigh gyftoi who once upon a time would have corporate boxes at lakeside and now think they're some sort of "new hellas".

Tell your club to update its fb page when you lose, bush league stuff.
:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: 😘

That benchmark! More proof?

Lost 1 just ask Aki and FV (which spent its meetings on all 4's) what happened with the other 2 and then get back to me!

Check the table champ (του πουτσου!)

Along with preston highest in the NPL this season and consistently the highest the other years.. what else you got?

- history of it you say? Show me the proof beyond the one troubled season? Ill be waiting for it...

Really..... Now share the reasons for that!

🤣😂🤣😂
Your bipolarity scares me: oakleigh is small club by your own words muppet..

get it checked champ or atleast get back on your meds!

Off you go to Vanilla now... Αντε γειά!
Now ask old mate the papara what the 5 stars on THEIR crest stand for? lol

There is a reason Jack Edwards is so close to Sweet Secrets isn't there champ?

I'm still convinced they will put their hand up to host grand finals once that's open despite not wanting anyone to have home advantage blah blah
Im hoping for a Preston v Oakleigh GF played at Jack 'Sweet Secrets' Edwards reserve behind closed doors.... hahahahahahaha

As a side note, this whole “npl 2025” thread is a pretty good example re what I was saying on the championship thread as to why a championship which amounted to a merger between the npl nsw and npl vic wouldn’t be the worst thing in the world. We’ve essentially got 2 parallel discussions going on in this thread, in the same way the 2nd tier of the sport is essentially diluted across two leagues in two states. Just merge the 2 and concentrate the interest/on and off field quality. If all else fails, would be better than nothing. Not that the other states and their clubs aren’t also wanted and valuable

Welcome to the forum... The man with the Ned Flanders moustache was one of my all time idols :)

Well i thought Oakleigh didn't matter to anyone either until i kept seeing negative discussion about them all the time by South fans, which i still don't understand why a so called big club would worry about small fish like us.

I've said it numerous times but i do wish you luck in this new competition, if i had it my way, they'd be promotion and relagation, I'd love to see the old South Melbourne return and promoted into the a league.

My club decided not to enter this new championship mainly because they thought it wouldn't be successful or worth it for a smaller club like us. Maybe in future they might? Who knows.

Would be nice to beat Preston, any place any time.

What's your point? That Oakleigh has money? Okay cool, that's good news for me as a supporter, i hope we continue to buy the best available players.
