MCG. NFL fields are actually narrower than football and when the German league played at the Hannover stadium there was a decent amount of space available on each sideline. MCG will see plenty of room at the cost of being further away from the action.

The NFL have gone hard on international games with the UK becoming a mainstay. The following in Germany and Europe is big so it's stuck here. Brazil had a game which had a big crowd but came across as less authentic. They all are to be fair.

The AFL promo shit is all in motion. Sherrins galore and tell how they have Australia's Superbowl.

yer can't grasp the game JS.
I think I recall you follow it, I have gone to a few games in the US, it goes too long like afl for my liking and I don't like the 1/4's style of game.
Far prefer full 2 halves makes it a greater contest of skill and stanima.
I see the skill factor having watched alot of nrl/union but like those games all I see is its a mugs game generally.
Maybe I'm too football focussed of the beautiful game I have no care And I don't like more merica kind of influence on our shores, we already follow enough of their bad traits imo.

It's just interesting if you tell people you're going to the NFL at the mcg you have creditability omg that's so cool wow

But if I tell people I'm going to Melbourne city vs Western united they look at me like I'm a loser

This will be more about spreading egg ball to America than anything else.

Looking at your first sentence quickly first up I thought - wtf is mog - I had to re focus more ah MCG hahaha

Not unexpected mate you are in melbon afterall - afl afl afl - shows how ingrained it has fogged brains or they only relate to a big gig at the g..
Mind you are you surprised of the 2 teams mentioned, certainly doesn't inspire alot, whats that chant - who are you who are you

Nah but it's like that with everything sadly if you're going to a massive music concert it's just more socially acceptable than going to a standard gig.

I guess you don't need to care what others think but just a thought on a thuuursday

They run about 25 metres then have a coffee break and stand around like stale bottles of piss or cut to a commercial break.

It's popularity is lost on me.

It is 60 minutes of action played out over 3 hours.

Dead boring at the game or live on TV, but does allow plenty of time to buy food and drinks.

The actual game play can be very good, and it is a tactical game, so edited down, or preferably just the highlights are good.

They day we went to an actual game of NFL was a long boring day and the guys partying on the back of a truck in the carpark seemed to have more fun.

I do watch a day's test cricket live, but that is 6 hours of action, spread over something like 7.5 hours.

No doubt the game needs tweaks to speed it up. Mandatory TV time outs are the killer when there are already injury stoppages and ref reviews.

Broadcasters love it when teams turn it over as it gives them a chance to switch away again.

That’s the thing about that game - it’s run by the broadcaster and sponsors.
Feck em - yanks are used to that bs.
It’s a token event here but people need to start standing up not attend for it’s just about revenue out of your pockets.
Go to the beach a bbq or a local game that’s more important than these event sell ups.
Wake up people - the big corps or as MCG quotes the suits are fleecing you

The NFL international games are well integrated into the regular season but their scarcity make it no different to the Superbowl. People attend to be seen. The real games are the ones where you can get tickets for around 50 bucks in week 8 for the Texans against the Browns. The distance to Australia will make it feel another world away.

Plenty have already left the NFL due to the juggernaut it has become. College football is attended at even higher levels.

I agree re the colleague football at least it’s a bit towards grass roots saying that very loosely.
The main game is a show.
Been to a few over there got better things to do.

Like any large sporting event there is a social aspect to it of course, I've seen those tail gate parties in the car parks over there & they are amazing. No way this pathetic nanny state would ever do anything like that.
