I think ultimately what was some sort of thinking like this:
  • Ok, let's box Oscar and double stack with Lando behind
  • Oh wait, but what if there's a hold up on Oscar's stop? That will affect Lando too
  • Ok, well - if we pit one but not the other, we're going to be seen as favouring them
  • Alright, let's leave them out and have separate stops later.
And thus, the Qatar Foksmash was complete - an inadvertent way that disadvantages Oscar overall. Remember, there was a similar situation in Hungary, and they took the gamble on only Lando, and look who benefitted that time....

Supercars had a pretty good 1st round over the weekend - 2 teams I'm invloved with BRT/Penrite looking strong.
I think the Toyota introduction went well.

I had no idea that Supercars started again until I saw there was race highlights on YouTube hahaha

Although I think this was the main talking point for me over the week:

IF you don't have Fox then yer people miss out on SC barring IF there's some other media mentioning it.

Yer motogp - as much as I think PI is next best track we have after Bathurst I don't mind SA winning back a premium global event from Vic.
Gonna be dam interesting for '27.
 
Perfect racing and practice weather in Melbourne.
Oh my DJR break out Kosteki wins 2 races so far.

F1, these modern cars are getting quieter sadly.
Size tweaks car still looks ok but the wheel tyre combos narrower taller.
Ferrari MB Bulls and Mac look to be the best prepared to date after FP runs.
Aston is a basket case so far. Honda is suffering vibrations under loads and new batteries are the onter concern.
Behind the 8 ball big time.

First Oscar's crash on the way to the grid dampened the race start.

Then after an amazing start from Ferrari - they turned into standard Ferrari and had two laps they could have pitted their drivers (or at least one of them) under VSC, which completely lost them the race.

Shambles from race direction yet again, with marshalls entering the track while cars are on the fast run down to turns 11/12 in a blind section (albeit, while under VSC, but they'd normally wait until there's no cars), and also leaving the pitlane open just enough for some cars to pit under VSC, and closing it a good while after that while they cleared up the Cadillac from pit entry. Michael Masi would never - that's yet another poor showing from race direction since sacking Masi for one thing (that is still technically in the regulations, no matter what people tell you, that bit of the regs that he acted under - or that the stewards defended him acting under - still exists).

I'm no mcLaren supporter but aussie is aussie I was real bummed that happenning as most would but thats motor racing as they say.
We sure have bad luck any of our drivers at our home F1.

I can't accept this 50/50 ice/battery farce as other drivers quote also but it is what it is.
Positives, Ferrari out of the box from starts I was impressed - we were at a suite T1 and to see CLC cut through to the front was a hoot and even hamilton getting up there.
Haas doing ok also Alpines.
Good on Audi first time out.
Real shame friggin Aston, Alonso has all the driving class I enjoy when he's amongst it HOPE they sort out their battery issues, I expect Newey is way under the pump to sort them out.
Cadillac, well long way from the back for them being newby's.
Drive of the day (typical) Max, from back of the grid to P6, he is the beast of drivers I luv this kind of driver.

All in all its an amazing event to be at - they marvel about the AO - this imo exceeds it hands down the type of companies involved, the prestige etcetc......
I'm fortunate I get freebies to attend for it costs a bomb IF I was to take my young fam - record crowds and thankfuylly weather was way better than '25.

OMG Oscar again ?! funnier was Lando.
WTF these new tech cars - funnier is that McL being a MB winning customer has suddenly gone off the rails in their title defense.
KUDOS to 19yr old and Italyano Antonelli <<<<< the only reason I'm happy he won otherwise meh Toto/MB.
Happy days Ferrari are the next best at this early stage (just find more speed from this tech) luving seeing them pecking the front until they can't keep up with the MB's.
The racing between CLC/Hamo was good viewing and previously dicing with the MB's.
RB are falling inline with McL, Max can't even quali high enough let alone the car survive the race.
Some good mid to back pack dicing as well.
I'm still no mario cart fan - 4 cars out before race start for one.

The war has shortened the season.
 
I hate these cars. WEll, more specifically, I hate these engines. The cars themselves outside of that are fine

Weird racing backing off to boost your battery so you got boost to overtake.
