Matildas friendlies in Western Australia

Still scoreless between the Matildas and Panama. Foul count is eight to one with Chloe Berryhill committing the only foul for the Matildas.

Panama with a shot at goal but it hits the woodwork. Still scoreless between the Tillies and Panama.

Back underway for the second half. No changes for either side going into the second half.

Three changes for the Matildas. Michelle Heyman comes on for Hayley Raso. Adriana Taranto replaces her Western United teammate Chloe Berryhill, making her debut and becoming Matildas cap number 239. Chloe Lincoln also replaces Teagan Micah for her second ever cap, and first since our last friendly of 2024 in Geelong against Chinese Taipei.

Ironic the better coach has the worse cattle. Lots of things to work on a that actually makes it exciting. I prefer that than the essential guarantee of an easy game which also packs on frustration when it doesn't work. Prefer building up rather than hovering up there and left wondering.

Michelle Heyman assuming the captaincy as the most experienced Matildas player on the field after replacing Hayley Raso.

Two more changes for the Matildas. Emily van Egmond replaces Alex Chidiac and earns her 162nd cap. Jacynta Galabadaarachchi on for Emily Gielnik, becoming the second debutant today and in the Montemurro era, as well as Matildas cap number 240.

Two more changes for the Matildas, and two more debutants for a total of four today and in the Montemurro era. Alexia Apostolakis replaces Kaitlyn Torpey, becoming Matildas cap number 241. Grace Kuilamu on for Holly McNamara, becoming Matildas cap number 242.

Six minutes of second half stoppage time. Matildas still trailing Panama 1-0.

Adriana Taranto yellow carded in the third minute of second half stoppage time on international debut. Second yellow card of the game for the Matildas.

Michelle Heyman with a shot on goal but over the bar. Panama still leading the Matildas 1-0 with seconds remaining.

Full time at Hands Oval. The Matildas lose 1-0 to Panama in our first ever meeting with them and our first ever game in Bunbury, our first loss under Joe Montemurro three games into his tenure.

Good for Bunbury to bring 10k. Some photos, likely the angle, shows its just a horrible view on a round oval. It's the same as a rectangular in that the ad boards are there but they're such an eyesore on an oval.
