We still lack the depth in up and coming players to compete consistently with the likes of Germany, England,USA etc.
Gustafson said at the beginning of his tenure four years ago that we need to put things in place to address this problem but very little has been done by the powers that be.

Was only able to watch the highlights, but I found watching the German goalkeeper during this quite interesting. Until that point, she seemed to be playing very well, and then fell apart through the game after Kyra's goal. Looked to be out of it for Hunt's goal as well.
 
Great snatch and grab result BUT 26% possession and 63% completed passes. Not good.

Unless it happened in the EPL in which case it'd be a 'wonderstrike'.

Same stuff was said of Cahill's goal for Melbourne city from about the same distance. 'Crap goalkeeping'.

I am in no way saying Sermanni is at fault, I am referring to the lack of action in lifting the women’s game at ALW and NPL level
There is an article in the Guardian today saying how poor job structure is in this area. It’s a part time job with a $25 k wage p.a.in the ALW and probably very minimal at NPL level.
