Matilda's abroad

No game time for Emily Gielnik, who was not in the matchday squad altogether for Monterrey in their 2-1 Liga MX Femenil Clausura win over 10-player Cruz Azul.

I agree that Womens football has a long way to go to be accepted as a legitimate part of football in many countries, however this is changing and changing quickly .
Yes we have a number of younger players who are in the Matildas squads but my concern is that places are drying up for players coming through from the A league for the next batch of players needing to be developed at higher levels.
I am concerned that not enough is being done to push our talented players to the next level.
It seems kinda slow ngl. Like much of Africa is at least 10, 20 or even 30 years behind. Even in Eastern Europe they're still probably 10 years behind.

HAT-TRICK ALERT!

Kyah Simon scored a hat-trick for Dijon in their 4–0 away win over Reims in the Coupe de la Ligue!
Kyah Simon started and played the entire first half for Dijon in their 4-0 Coupe LFFP group A win over Reims, scoring a hat-trick with goals in the 9th, 24th and 28th minute before being subbed off at the half.

Clare Wheeler starts for Everton in their WSL game against Brighton. Charlize Rule starts for Brighton.
Wheels sadly having a run of somewhat poor form in their last three matches. In saying that Everton have lost their last three WSL matches and their last win was the now famous Chelsea game believe it or not.

Both her and Charlize started but were subbed off.

No game for Hayley Raso and Jamilla Rankin this week as the Frauen-Bundesliga game between Eintracht Frankfurt and Hoffenheim has been postponed due to adverse weather conditions causing the pitch to become unplayable.

Looks like with how the schedule has played out there's only two games tonight. Chelsea vs Arsenal should be a great game obviously though.

Ellie Carpenter and Sam Kerr both start for Chelsea in their WSL game against Arsenal. Steph Catley and Caitlin Foord both start for Arsenal. Kyra Cooney-Cross not in the matchday squad altogether for Arsenal.

In a surprising turn of events, Arsenal won 2–0 at Stamford Bridge. Sonia Bompastor has admitted the title race is over.

The Dijon v Fleury game is part of the Coupe de France Feminine round of 16 as Premiere Ligue takes a break this week before returning for matchday 14 next week.

Clare Hunt starts for Spurs in their WSL game against Liverpool. Charli Grant not yet back from injury and not in the matchday squad altogether for Spurs.
