La Liga Thread

Does anyone watch La Liga on BeIN Sports?

The international English language tv feed must have the worst studio based commentary I've ever known.

It's like they are doing it from one of their fucken bedrooms.

It makes SBS's week old Serie A highlights voice overs in the mid 1990's look brilliant!

nah hardly watch it but for the big derbies etc and thats IF i remember.
I expect the english commentators are in their bedroom or the bar - why not haha

Extraordinary performance from Atletico Madrid in the 5-2 defeat of Real in the big Madrid derby.....

There was an article in the Spanish newspaper El Pais on Saturday about Julian Alvarez and how this game was set up to be all about him on his home ground.

And they got that right. With 2 goals he was absolutely outstanding.

Hatrick against Rayo last week and now a brace against Real Madrid. He is having a great start to the season.

a cracker win that by Atleti - 5 passed Curtious got to be a first as well.
Biggest win against RM since 2015.

I don't follow the league enough to know if this is true or not.

Can anyone comment on the veracity of this?

"The shocking numbers...."

Probably a case of cherry picking facts to fit a theory...

Whilst ignoring any contradictory evidence. We probably do it al the time too!

Football fans eh??

Simple observation from watching the refs, they do favor, borderline on corrupt.

But it goes for the two big teams.

Sevilla ripped Barcelona a new arsehole this morning...

4 - 1 and with only 39% possession.

Sevilla got 3 yellow cards, Barcelona got 5.

Maybe the referee in that game never got his brown envelope....

https://www.laliga.com/en-GB/news/o...respect-to-the-official-laliga-match-in-miami

The La Liga game between Villarreal and Barcelona that was meant to be hosted in Miami in December has now been cancelled due to uncertainty that has arisen in Spain over the past few weeks, with the promoters also citing insufficient time to organise the event, and will be hosted at the Estadio de la Ceramica as originally planned.

Because of the Super Cup final? Shit thats harsh .... it was decent match.
I don't think Xabi Alonso getting the sack is solely because of losing the Spanish Super Cup grand final to rivals Barcelona, especially with sources saying that he had some biff with Mbappe about tactics prior to the game, in addition to falling out with the club president earlier on the day after before he got given his marching orders.

Alonso personally asked to step down as he was drained by the egos and the lack of respect in the dressing room. Its that ninja Turtle Mbappe.

since his career, Mbappe has had a new coach every 1.4 seasons.

Vinicius whinging and gesturing to the ref. Nothing will change until they start giving them cards.

yer he's an entitled one thats for sure and French hahaha
Look at Alonso's win ratio - .2 behind Ancelotti - sure no where the amount of games but this is Madrid as they say - such a entitled club as well imo - bad sports you name it.
Good Xavi has gone, like him to come to LFC :)

Mallorca up 2–1 over Osasuna away with the match almost done. This puts them out of the relegation zone.

Mallorca end up drawing 2-2 with Osasuna after Ante Budimir scored the equaliser for the home side in the fourth minute of second half stoppage time, with both teams down to 10 players after red cards in the 73rd and 83rd minute of the match.
