High Volpato Voltage

Oh man. What a crying shame. His PR blitz of Oz was going so well. If this was AFL they would have this thing under wrap and key already.

What’s the likely damage here? 1-3 month ban? High chance this stuffs up his transfer.

Reflection of Aus football. Highs and then the inevitable low. He was really making the big effort as well.

Not the first you athlete to do something stupid like this.

The bigger question.

Not going to help him take a starting spot at club level if he is missing time for coke and then wants to play AC.

Volpato allegedly tests positive for cocaine doing a 109km in a 60km zone.

Fucking hell, if that’s true he’s seriously fucked up yet again, all when we were just starting to like him.

Hopefully it’s just fake news and he’s fine for the Asian Cup but it seems very real and very stupid of him. He has to tell the truth and if he did it, he must face the law, apologise and face a suspension at Sassuolo.

This does not get reported unless it is true.

In all seriousness though, can our star players just be normal for once? Mark Bosnić doing coke, Trent Sainsbury going full cooker mode (not a crime but still), Sam Kerr being racist (to be fair that court case was a bit of a waste of time), now Cristian Volpato doing coke too?

I’m not saying anyone’s inherently a bad person (Trent seems a bit mental), in fact I think Bozza and Sam have shown their remorse and Cristian could possibly do so too depending on the pending court case. However, you can’t be doing this type of shit.

Volpato injuries or kills a person doing this (which he at those speeds and under the influence he easily could have done) I would want him in the slammer for years. Dude got lucky as fuck he got caught before he actually did some damage. He should consider a 3 month, hell even a year long ban from football lucky and him getting away with it.

Aivi Luik got accused of intentionally doping and was found to have not done so.
I am talking about the speeding and failing the drug test. I would say that almost certainly happened.

Maybe he didn't take coke and failed the drug test for some other reason, the ones police run are not 100% accurate. That is possible.
