Graham Arnold's Iraq thread



Graham Arnold has named the Iraq starting XI for their last World Cup group I match against Senegal, with four changes made to their playing list from their 3-0 loss to France. Frans Petros, Rebin Sulaka, Ali Jasim and Ali Al-Hamadi come into the squad for Zaid Tahseen, Hussein Ali, Zaid Ismael and the injured Aymen Hussein. Ibrahim Bayesh leads the line for them as captain, with Ahmed Basil again starting between the sticks.
 
Despite Iraq's love for Arnold in wonder if they'll do their usual coach sacking when things don't work out.

It's worth going on for the Asian Cup at least but Arnold might not fancy the travel to Iraq anymore.

Has he been extended through to Asian Cup already?
 
They were never going to advance from this group, but I’m disappointed they got smashed in all their games. They looked a lot more defensively solid in the qualifiers and the play off. I’m surprised they turned out to be the worst team at the World Cup. Their results were even worse than Tunisia’s.

Not sure why it all fell apart so terribly. You can make excuses against France and Norway, but there’s really no excuse for losing 5-0 to Senegal.

Graham Arnold and Iraq ended up winning the spoon at the World Cup with the same number of goals conceded as Tunisia but they only managed to score just the one goal whereas Tunisia managed to score twice throughout their campaign.

I thought he was universally accepted as the greatest ever coach at the previous world cup by the KNVB, what happened, did Iran reject the national curriculum?
