Graham Arnold's Iraq thread

Graham Arnold has named his final 26-player list that will represent Iraq in their World Cup campaign, with keeper Kamil Saadi remaining in the squad during their training camp in case of any injuries. Jalal Hassan will lead the line as captain, but there is no place in the playing list for Dundee United defender Dario Naamo who recently jumped ship to Iraq from Finland and made his debut in their pre-World Cup friendly win over Andorra.

Surprised Dario Naamo wasn’t picked unless he’s either injured or Graham Arnold wanted to honour the players who played in the qualifiers.

No Ali Auglah either, looks like his switch is still being processed.

I don't think he is injured - he was selected in the preliminary squad.

Ali Auglah was not though.

These were the players cut from the preliminary squad

Iraq currently at 1:1 with Spain. A spectacular equaliser with a shot from the side which would generally be a cross. He seemed to mean it.

That's the difference to Australia. We'd hold the ball up and not have a punt.
