General A Leagues thread (Men and Women) 2025/26 season

Yeah but look at this corporate dribble.

"Earlier in October, Melbourne Victory released a Fan Engagement Plan, spearheaded by Carnegie, in what it hopes is a formal benchmark for communication and engagement with its supporters. The document outlines a framework for collecting member and supporter feedback through various workshops and forums as well as outlining how its supporter marshalls work as a link between fans and security on matchdays. "

No wonder it's all over down there ( and everywhere else ) to an extent. The clubs want to sanitise the supporter experience to appease other people. Boring.

Now I've had a really good look at the Melbourne derby, it was an absolute pleasure to watch!

It goes back to all those discussions in 2008-12 in FFA National Coaching Conferences where the Tech Dept described the type of footballers Aus needs to produce - most on the pitch fitted the criterion for quality players.

There were also some good imports like Miranda and Kuen, plus the Argentinian City CB, and the improving Japanese City winger.

Asa neutral I think Vic were the better team, but just not able to finish. Credit to the young City kids for standing up and performing.

I thought Jelacic played well, but was culpable for the second City goal for failing to track Anstinou ? the City LB.

Vic asleep at the wheel defensively twice to cede the 2 goals.

Can't blame Jelavic for that, Miranda was just standing there not marking anyone & ball watching - Miranda has a shocker

The first goal was conceded through the position where Miranda plays - Right CB.

You are probably right about Miranda also being culpable for goal 2, but Jelacic probably should have kept tracking too.

I remember when I was younger a woman put "..." at the end of every sentence and sometimes in the middle with every text she sent me

I assumed she thought I was a weirdo or something. It turned out I was wrong!

I had a similar thing with a work colleague once. Every email she sent, no matter whether it was one sentence or twenty, never had full stops, it was always the three dots. I didn’t endear myself to her when I responded on one occasion, after getting heartily sick and tired of it, and suggested that she get a new keyboard as the full stop key on her current one was obviously sticking all the time.
