General A Leagues thread (Men and Women) 2025/26 season

except one leg is amputated at the knee and NOT allowed to compete at the top level because of ..... well.... something?
That's the suits the guys that govern the game. If the a league and championship are hot everyone is selling out games ratings are through the roof sponsors are signing up. Surely that drives p and r?

But not only that but if championship is hot then people will follow a league as well. If npl players do well they will play in a league I believe the two are linked and if the sport becomes popular it benefits both competitions.

That's why I roll my eyes when both fans fight with each other they are two legs on the same body
A-League fans like the championship and want it to do well.

Many championship fans actively want the AL to fail.

Lol, far from the truth

I would rephrase it to, "Some A-League fans think the Championship might fail, some A-League fans want the Championship to succeed, and some Championship fans want the A-League to fail"

I think that covers all the bases haha

Football fans arguing over which is worse while both get average ratings and attendance reminds me of this clip

ONLY football performance drives p and r.... I couldn't care less how much your "suits" make off their investment.

It doesnt really matter one tiny bit of shit what Aleague fans think of the Championship, their franchise owners want it to fail, the PFA wants it to fail, and anyone feeding from the trough of Aleague will do their best to either ignore it or throw snide remarks about it as a way of protecting their diminishing cash cow.

Most Championship fans want the Aleague to fail so that it can finally be replaced with an open system of Pro Rel and full Australian football pyramid like 99% of the world has. ... Nobody wants any Aleague franchises to fail... but if they do, I cant say I would be too fussed either.

Like the open system you had when the championship teams were last in the top league? Funny how they want it now, but not back then, if they had, their might not have been shiny cash cow franchises today.

When exactly did the NSL have an open pyramid? And when exactly were clubs like Metrostars, Canberra Croatia, South Hobart and Avondale in the "top flight" of Australian football.

I know you are alot older than most on here but I don't remember any of this.

And off you go with your shenanigans when you have no answer. You know fine what I meant. Hypocrisy screams out of you.

The NSL never had what you now want, when the likes of Olympic, Marconi, Heidelberg, Apia, Preston and your own team were ruling the roost.( apart from a few seasons)

Hypocrisy? WTF are you talking about mate? How many times do you want me to repeat that the NSL was shit? Was run by amateur people for amateur clubs.... so now what?

I know very well that the NSL didnt have what I want, is THAT your excuse for us, 27 years later, NOT having what the rest of the world finds normal???

The same, lame arse, protectionist bullshit you are trying to accuse me of.
