But then we’d have to compete with the AFL and the NRL and we won’t be aligned with Europe and (now) Japan. Not new but the 360 article about Adam Peacock and the winter schedule change should simply be trialled. Let's do it for one season.
Start in May. Have a 6 week summer break then resume mid February. Add a few more fixtures.
Sounds tricky to near impossible given ground shares and the crucial summer school holidays.
Adam Peacocks schedule is Feb-May, 2 month break, then Aug-Nov. Teams play each other 3 times. Not new but the 360 article about Adam Peacock and the winter schedule change should simply be trialled. Let's do it for one season.

Hmmm. Feasible I think but the two coldest months omitted. That is when the eggball sports are really in.Adam Peacocks schedule is Feb-May, 2 month break, then Aug-Nov. Teams play each other 3 times.
A massive concern. I think we need to look at some flexibility somewhere to avoid the summer heat. But then we’d have to compete with the AFL and the NRL and we won’t be aligned with Europe and (now) Japan.
Alternatively if we want to keep the current model and avoid transitioning to a single calendar year model as proposed in the article the A-Leagues could run October through December and March through May, with the two month period where the league shuts down coinciding with the hottest summer months of January and February.A massive concern. That seems like too long of a break though.Alternatively if we want to keep the current model and avoid transitioning to a single calendar year model as proposed in the article the A-Leagues could run October through December and March through May, with the two month period where the league shuts down coinciding with the hottest summer months of January and February.
If the break is too long then it could just be the entirety of January and the league resumes in mid-February or the APL takes the opportunity to introduce a new league cup competition running through the break. That seems like too long of a break though.
Probably the best we can bet. October starts are also way too late as the rest of the world is well underway. We simply need more clubs at a sustainable level. We needn't worry about big arenas just yet.Alternatively if we want to keep the current model and avoid transitioning to a single calendar year model as proposed in the article the A-Leagues could run October through December and March through May, with the two month period where the league shuts down coinciding with the hottest summer months of January and February.
