Football Manager 26

I simulated an entire A-League Women regular season on the mobile version of FM26 with Melbourne Victory and ended up winning a premiership first season using just Angeball, or more precisely an interpretation of the tactic. We finished level on points with Wellington Phoenix but ended up top of the table on for and against (12 wins, 8 draws and 2 losses, scored 49, conceded 25).

This is how the latter half of the season panned out, with our only two losses of the season both coming against Wellington Phoenix, and not until fairly late in.

Here are all the incoming transfers I made at the start of the season. All prices in Australian dollars with Sienna Techera going to Melbourne City as part of the Leticia McKenna trade, and Sarah Hunter coming in on a free transfer as she starts unattached right off the bat.

I played FM24 on mobile for the last 12 months and really enjoyed it. A lot easier to play than the PC/Mac version which would suit some people more than others. I have thought about playing the mobile version of FM26 instead of playing the Mac version.

Can I ask are you using your own built from scratch tactic? Or are you using something downloaded from one of the many FM sites?

No judgement either way - just very curious as you look to be having great success! You've smashed it in league 1 at your first time up!

I initially built my own tactic and it was working really well with a 3-4-3 and less consistent with a 4-2-3-1 (my preferred formation) so I did a bit of research and found something similar to mine. My xG was amazing before it but not converting enough chances. Very odd issue to have.

My research led me to making a few tweaks with the defensive positioning of the wingers and the fullbacks. Everything else stayed the same.

I feel like I’ve cracked the code or something. It has been too easy for two seasons now. Check my post on the 29th November 2025 for screenshots.
 
Bad news.. I got offered the Burnley job and I took it. Curious to test out the tactics at a bigger club that I’ll hopefully get promoted to the Premier League.

Wow imagine you go your second promotion in two seasons with Burnley into the Premier League!

My new Mac mini arrived today - not long set it up so I can't imagine I'll be able to hold off much longer before I get FM. It's been so long, I wonder if it will be just like riding a bike!

Might take some time getting used to the interface.

First season with Burnley. If it wasn't for the poor form in the last 5 rounds, we'd be in the EPL next season. Playoff now vs Swansea.. here we go!

Amazing play off final!! A lot of reports saying the game seems to be relatively easy and that many are flying up through the leagues rather easily....not taking anything away from your achievements by the way!!

I got the game just over a week ago and decided to start with the Pompeyroos!!! I'm currently 12th after 27 games in the Jan transfer window so trying to offload some dead wood and be savvy with free transfers and loans as Portsmouth ain't got no coin!

Farrell doing a decent job as squad rotation LB, Matthews getting a few minutes here and there but prob not good enough in the long run BUT Adrian Segecic is an absolute beast and currently odds on to be my player of the season. Kills it on the right as an inside forward and occasionally play him as an AMC.

A joke how many bugs there still is in the game although still having a great fun at the same time ✌️

From my experience, it definitely seems easier. I think I’ve won promotion every season I’ve played so far. It would take me 2-3 seasons in previous versions.

Yeh, there are still a few bugs. I’ve had mine freeze twice in the last few days. Another I noticed is that when I make subs, the 2D players keep running on and off the field. 🤣

Yep I had one freeze so far when I was trying to set my international players friendly instructions to 45 mins - once I did that no other buttons anywhere on the screen would work so I was stuck on that screen and had to close the game.

I've also had players getting yellow cards but it shows as red in the game highlights, subs that are warming up on the touchline all of a sudden all run on to the pitch haha comical stuff
