For the Belgium v USA game the world wide viewing audience would almost to a person been barracking for the Red Devils.

Portugal v Spain was possibly the most boring game of this WC.

Pretty obvious result. Belgium in the ascendency and very mad while the USA had lighter opponents in the build up and so much outside noise that the pressure and expectation was too much.

And to think some people thought the match would be rigged that the USA would win. Belgium won fair and square.

Nathan Cleary was apparently a Man U fan growing up. Not sure how that sits well with his more famous girlfriend Mary Fowler.

Either way I’d hope he uses that to help support the A-League and Aussie soccer. It sounds stupid but are codes really enemies? People like more than one code.

South Africa was terrible. I had premonitions of lots of bad games after that with all these inferior nations playing.

But it turned out better than I expected. But not as good as previous 2 editions

I don't think NRL is an enemy. Has always generally been quite accepting (at least in Sydney) to me of eachother. Sure, there's a few bogans here and there that will shit on football - but it's very different to what I've generally encountered with AFL fanbases.

It probably depends on where you are too. If you live in, say, Adelaide, then NRL has no social standing at all. Only 5,000 to 7,000 people a week watch NRL in SA.
