I beg to differ. Canada and Paraguay got early yellows for rough mistimed tackles. Yet I see the caution given those 3 red cards.

Look at the way the USA move the ball quickly and are in behind the midfield line. There's no way Irvine and O'Neill are goal side. They'll pull Bos inward or force a defender forward. Devlin must start.

They're fine on their day. They've shown the own problems in games recently but they've not played a competitive games for ages. The game today is totally different. Perhaps we're seeing a little stage fright from Paraguay who may be weaker off the continent. Just up the road however.

It's been noticeable how one team runs out of energy after going ahead. Czech Rep and Bosnia both did. It'll be interesting to see how the USA energy holds up.

Obvious strategy here is get the early killer blow. Our problem will be to try to absorb that pressure and invite. I don't like it because if we concede we panic and have little idea how to attack.

They have defensive problems but offensively they've always been good. Even against Belgium, Portugal and Germany they looked really good offensively.

We are really banking on can we hold off against them because the US will be attacking hard.
