Don't like it but it's shorter than some injuries or faking it to take the wind out of their sails. At least throws and goal kicks are sped up.

Those don't happen every game and rarely twice in a game.


FIFA clearly gaslit the public to believe the drinks break were for hydration and the heat but it's clearly about advertisement money.

I noticed. It would be different if it were just a drinks break but the ads take a lot of people out of the game.

South Africa only managed to come away with draws against Nicaragua and Jamaica in their two friendlies prior to their World Cup campaign getting underway so will be lucky to get results in their group stage matches given the way they're playing.

Happens all the time in top 5 leagues now with it's unwatchable fake injuries and keepers lying down so a tactic talk can be done.

Sure it's about money but the heat is also a concern. Pre season games have drink breaks as do early season matches.

If ads are going to turn people of the main reason they sat down and tuned in then they're just not up for it.

It's cloudy and 22 degrees right now at the Azteca stadium. Have a set heat threshold that all teams respect that if it reaches then they can have a drinks break. Few of the locations even need a drinks break. Again, that isn't really the problem, it was fine when they showed us the drinks break essentially as a tactical timeout on the broadcast but having the ads has completely killed a lot of the viewers experience, go look at twitter about everyone complaining about it right now. The energy in the stadium has also dissipated too.
 
Worse than a drink break. Here comes to German public broadcaster with its bubbled news.
