FIFA 26

Remember FIFA 2006 where the control stick would just get good movements that were the perfect combination between a human and video game? Then they marketed the fake 'total control' which was just a slow down bug under the guise of being a true footballer.

The new FIFA lacks heart

This was 2002 for all you young blood

We gone backwards 😔

Like I've been saying - PES has been shitting over FIFA for years (if you're lucky enough to have been playing on PC/PlayStation where you can just download files to make the kits/team names all real)

The fact I'm doing EL SIMULACION on a game that released 7 years ago speaks volumes.

I played pes before covid I didn't think it was anything special when was it's peak?

Probably mid 2000s, and then maybe the last few years again (late 2010s).
Was a great game, only thing that held it back was the lack of licences - but you could always edit them on PS and PC very very easily
Ok also miss FIFA manager, codesports football games lma manager and touchline passion. 2000s people really tried

Played the new world cup version. Yeah, it's fun to have all the teams but even the match order is mixed up by default and needs manual tweaking.

Stupid player roles diminish Irankunda's attributes of where I want to put him. Players still too rigid or never getting goal side in midfield.

Drew eith Turkey, Lost to Paraguay and beat USA. France next.

I thought it was weird that the first game was vs USA and not Turkey. Only did the one game, beat the yanks 5-3. Yengi and Irvine both getting a brace. Jesus the defending is awful.

I switched it around the after a reset and got Turkey first and USA last.

Was down 2:0 after 8min against Turkey because of how rigid and distance my mids and defence were. I hate the CPU just lingering on the edge of the box and your own man is so slow off the mark. If the sliders go up then it makes attackers too easy. Player roles just have me livid. I had a flat 3 mid and they were nowhere. The AI also didn't have Bos running up the line as instrcuted so I often needed to stop, go back and manually trigger it.

Got to say the randomizer and non qualified teams available gave me some real 98 vibes on N64.

France are just too tough on this difficulty level. They hold the ball up and the AI doesn't have your own man mark them tightly.

I've got Devlin as box to box and balanced which is code for no man's land. I changed him to holding and defend to minimal affect.

What I've noticed is the roles move players around automatically and it's a bit like sailing a boat. You've got to let the flow happen naturally and adjust towards it accordingly.

Circati as a ball playing defender but then build up emphasises his attack while aggressive focuses on the defensive role.

I remember 20 years ago when everyone was premeditated on a disc and the guide had exciting things such as 'when do you blood the young player to see him grow?' I'd be obsessed with growing Giuseppe Rossi at Manchester United only to know that it was always going to be the same number but it was just simpler.

If they're going to be serious about player growth then make it stat and performance based like Madden and not some weird time based flawed algorithm.

Trying to beat France again but the mids are never goal side! Do I really have to change the formation even deeper and thereby sacrificing everything further up?

yep seems much, much too easy to score. Have set up a tournament playing as Socceroos and All Whites - no tactical changes other than the line up. 6 min halves, Professional AI, and was 4-0 up at half time v USA, won the game 7-2, with a Velupillay second half hat-trick off the bench.

Meanwhile, that PES mod I keep shilling, the same match (with Professional AI and 5 minute halves) was 0-0, tough to score, much more challenging in a non-frustrating way.
