FIFA 2026 WC - general

Could Canada and Mexico host the WC if the hosting rights are taken off the USA due to the turmoil happening under the Trump regime and the possibility that fans from many participating countries will be denied entry?

Not a chance.

The US is a massive market for FIFA and they are money hungry cunts. The 48 team world cup is because they want the US to qualify every time. Them, China and, down the track, India. The world's biggest economy followed by the world's 2 biggest populations.

Nothing will stop this world cup in America short of an actual civil war.

Yeah can you imageine the backlash from Coke, McDonalds, Budweiser .. Trump woulod have to re-create his own Temu FIFA to match the Temu UN he has going.

Ok - I know I've been spruiking how much I've been enjoying this PES 21 / Football Life 2026 mod recently - but I've decided to go through all the countries that have qualified directly, or have qualified for the final playoffs that are in game (which is all of them, except New Caledonia and Suriname), and put together (what I thought at least) the best squad possible based off:
  • Their most recent squads
  • Players called up within the last 12 months
  • Injured players that would probably walk straight back into the squad - such as Harry Souttar in Australia's case.
  • Only using players that were on the game
Tonight I'm running sims of all the playoffs, and I just feel like doing a simulation of the World Cup.
In this simulation, playoffs will be viewed sims (I may record them on YouTube and put on here for the lulz - will just be set to "5 minutes" like when I simulated the playoffs for the 32 Nation 2026 World Cup. However, for the actual World Cup, I will only be doing 'viewed sims' for Australia's matches.
-----
Semi Finals of the UEFA paths complete - anyone that would like to watch (all games set to "10 minutes" matchtime, with Extra Time and Penalties should they be needed:

Can only fit 5 embedded videos per post, so the other 3 coming next

Scores of Socceroos fans are furious after being made to pay $99 just to lodge an application for World Cup tickets they ultimately missed out on, as opportunistic scalpers ask for as much as $322,000 for a single seat at this year’s global event.

Football supporters learnt this week if they were successful in a range of ticket ballots, including a global lottery conducted by tournament organiser FIFA
and nation-based distributions organised by local governing bodies such as Football Australia (FA).

Reminds me of Jurassic Park where the lawyer sees dollar signs and starts going over daily rates. Pure greed with supply and demand. Was much fairer in the past to be lucky to get tickets at an affordable rate.

I'm sure they'll get that 99 dollars refunded.

pretty normal stations happening there - cartel leader been killed.
Headlines is headlines.
For a general tourist observation when isn't it a risk going there all the time I've known.

We all thought Blatter was bad, Infantino is proving himself to be much worse. Never seen a guy suck someone off as much as he does Trump.

Hopefully the IOC investigation against him is actually quite a serious one and takes actual action. Infantino is ruining our game for his own personal pocket.

zim throw in the M/E as well sucking off.
Hate to think what nice bribes he's taken from them hosting so many tournaments/premium games etc....

After leading Curacao to their first ever World Cup, Dick Advocaat has stood down ahead of the tournament for personal reasons.
