Three goalkeepers with seven appearances between them this season. Ollie McBurnie with 17 championship goals overlooked in favour of Lyndon fuckin Dykes, who has been offloaded by two clubs this season. Hope Clarke gets shown up again.

Ghana have named a 23-player squad for an upcoming friendly against Mexico this week but we haven't heard anything about the playing list they're taking to the World Cup yet.

EDIT: Actually - no I won't I just had a look at the squad, and every player on that list has less than 10 caps - except for one with 12 - so is very much a fringe squad

He is not exactly a popular pick amongst the Scottish supporters either. Who in 2026 uses a target man FFS, apart from Auckland with that lump of wood, Cosgrove.

Eni Aluko has been left out of ITV’s punditry team for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The former England international, who was a regular fixture during the 2022 tournament coverage, will not be part of the broadcaster’s lineup this summer.

ITV has unveiled its full squad for the 51 live matches, which will be presented from a studio in New York as it looks to rival the BBC’s offering. The star-studded panel includes Ian Wright, Roy Keane, Gary Neville, Karen Carney, Emma Hayes and several others.

Aluko featured prominently on ITV’s 2022 World Cup coverage but has been overlooked for this edition.

The broadcaster has not given any explanation for her omission.

You look at the Brazilian selections such as Cuhna and Paqueta and these guys are nowhere near past players levels. Good players on their day but not the glamour of Kaka.

I'll have to check the formations but something I've noticed is how few midfielders France, Portugal and others have picked.

I saw an interesting post that Spain have a better chance to go all the way as they've stacked the midfield.

It's not the only place where games are won but they often are. Australia only start two and we've got a lot of versatility but we mustn't go short here.
