I have thought about this in the long distant past. But the NSL had such a bad name by 2004, that it probably needed a clean break from the past.

Maybe everything that has happened is for a reason.

The potential further contraction of the league may allow Australian soccer to finally unite everyone. There is hope of sorts at the moment from my end at least.

Seeing my club perform better, Preston’s re-emergence, and the advent of the NSD, are possible indicators of a better future.

Let me also add that Pro/Rel has proven to work, so to speak, in Australia in the last 15 years.

Both Marconi and Heidelberg suffered that indignity, but rise again.

The Melbourne Knights may also return better and stronger. And maybe the threat of relegation may jolt Sydney Olympic into action.

I would also fact check the "results" of that little poll. Alot of opinions get thrown around as facts and 20 years later the he said/she said about what happened in the 90s and early 2000s in soccer becomes accepted history ...

I mean you have 20 year olds online talking about pitched "efnikz" battles happening in the NSL between Panzer IVs and T-34s apparently causing them to rue the "bad old days of the NSL" even though they weren't even born.
