Dual nationals: the ones that got away

If what Segacic Snr says is true regarding comms, or rather lack thereof, from Popovic after the Sept 25 window, then that is very poor management.
Yep this looks to be poor handled, even not playing the kid in the friendly games to not even contact him after that is not good man management skills regardless.

Totally agree, but it also feels like a bit of spin. Both sides of this are spinning the narrative to justify themselves.

Confirms what was rumoured

Zero communication from the fa and persistent chasing by croatia. People may not like that these days you have to talk to your young players frequently, but we need to compete
I had just read this on FB with Football 360.

Given he is being called up for Croatia, who until his recent WC have been a veritable powerhouse, Segecic is one who got away. IMO he is the only current one.

Didn't realise he was his Champ club's top scorer for the season?

However, if Croatia are selecting Champ players there may be a decline in their recent Golden G - and - are a team in decline. This was a poor WC for them - in relative terms.

Segecic seems to have an eye for goal ATM, an area the Aus national team struggles in at this point in time. I don't think I'll blame Popa though. I htink we have sifficen tdepth coming through we wont miss him.

If Popa were to play a midfield triangle of O'Neill, Okon Jr and Robbo, in a 4-3-3 attacking or defensive midfield triangle, I'm not sure Segecic would supplant any of this trio?

It's a funny analogy but I see a lot of tim cahill in him

Both would go missing in games (Sega is a low touch player) but both were feisty and willing to work hard. They also both have a route to goal that is hard to stop, headers in tims case and shots from range in segas case. They both have a similar scoring rate at the same age in the 2nd tier of england. Both broke through into the 2nd tier of england at the same age

I haven't seen Seg play for a while. Interesting that he is also a low touch player.

Yeah like tim cahill his main contribution is to pop up and score goals. Like tim cahill he is very consistent despite it looking unsustainable at times.
