Christian Vieri - Italy 49 caps, 23 goals. Serie A italian POTS x 2. 1 x Serie A topscorer. 1 x pichichi. 1 x serie a. 1 x cup winners cup. Fifa 100.

Sasa Illic - Yugoslavia 2 caps. Club revcord 9 clean sheets for charlton. Premier league player.

Looking at the above. As good as our Golden gen were, imagine how good we'd have been with Vieiri, Seric, Ergic, Simunic, Papadopoulos, Golum and Samaras added to it 😲

Siminuc in particular a big loss as he was a cb, a weak position for the gg
 
Should be the international career graveyard thread as very few have actually benefited by going elsewhere.
 
Depends how far you want to stretch it. Richard Porta represented Uruguay U23s but was never called up by Socceroos. Brendan Gan and Matthew Davies played for Malaysia but were never likely to be capped for us. Same for Iain Ramsay, who played for Phillipines. There was some debate at the time about Andy Rose's eligibility but he never showed much interest anyway and was never capped internationally. Given that Luke Vickery gained Indonesian citizenship last month and Indonesia doesn't accept dual citizenship, I guess that means he's gone now. Mitchell Baker now represents Indonesia and scored a hat-trick for them on debut.

Mitch Baker was locked in to Indonesia as soon as he started for them in their last ASEAN Championship group A match against Singapore and only managed to score four goals throughout the entirety of their campaign as they were grouped.
