Commonwealth Games

Who cares?
Lame competition.
If Australia win any more medals, they will get kicked out of the next one!
It’s friggin embarrassing tbh.
I don’t know why but it’s an utter joke of a tournament to me now.
First we more so tanked the games.
Near on killed it.
Next we provided Glasgow millions to support them getting us out of the poop.
Farce of a games compared to what it once was.
Sorry to offend but the way I see it.
No national pride?

Blame Chairman Dan mate. Bit harsh to take it out on our gutsy athletes who have shed every gram of their will power and energy to bring us sporting glory.

I agree the Comm Games is probably on its last legs. It is now irrelevant so change it for something more up to date and run it every two yrs between the Olympics. The greatest upside and the one I relish every games and will miss the most is the chance to hammer the Pommies.

I wish they had water polo or something fun to at least follow it's very boring
They usually have rugby sevens but your state shat the bed lol. At least next year there’s cricket.

I disagree on the boring part though. Basketball, netball, swimming, track, plenty of sports there!

Pole vault shock: Aussie queen beaten for gold:

Nina Kennedy and New Zealand’s Eliza McCartney both topped out at 4.65 m, with the Kiwi winning on a count back. The Olympic and world champ was well below her world-ranked vault height of 4.90m.

Where is my Tassie mate Jon (DC). Dont you like watching us Aussies blitzing every other Comm nation?

Former Australian Olympic champion cyclist Kate Bates has revealed her fury after Felicity Wilson-Haffenden and Sophie Edwards were disqualified in the track cycling women’s individual pursuit.

Wilson-Haffenden was set to race for bronze but her shoulder strapping was judged to be giving her an unfair advantage through “morphological change”. Edwards didn’t make the final but was judged to have excessive padding in her helmet.

Bates wasn’t happy.

“I am livid, I’m heartbroken for Sophie and for Felicity. Felicity in particular racing for a medal in her first Commonwealth Games.”

Another huge medal day for the Aussies:

Day 8 of the competition has netted Australia another 18 medals overall, with four of those gold.

We now have bagged 55 golds overall, 30 silver and 43 bronze for a massive total of 128 medals, while also rans England have a sorry 17 golds and 80 medals in all.

Kinda bizarre to make our victors wait two hrs plus for the ceremony. Yes we won with that four but where was turncoat Eddie Nketia as with his current times we Aussies may have pushed to a record and put other nations on notice for LA.

There is also a 17yr old kid running great times at home too. Just forgotten his name, Lebada? Anyway he an a blistering 100m in the junior nationals, think it was.

I can't believe all the salty Poms complaining that Victoria couldn't host the Games but we could still send over a massive team lol. Do they not realise that the Victorian Government isn't the one sending the athletes over?
